Meejana Lebanese restaurant, Weybridge for lunch. Outstanding Syrah (60%) Cabernet Sauvignon (40%) Lebanese wine from a producer new to me. Dense but focussed dark berry fruit with ripe plum nuances, earth, spice, hints of truffle and charred oak. More european (N.Rhône?) than New World in style and considerably superior to the majority of Australian examples (the country reputed for this blend). Long finish. Excellent. DTC; Israel and Lebanon (@ SS) : Fresh red berries and cherries in the bouquet. Some vanilla as well. On the palate herbs and spices like nutmeg, firm alcohol, some sweetness and ok acidity and round tannin.
