Lacaze, Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon, Central Valley

NW 2022 Xmas Roadshow (UK) : Purply in colour, the nose is expressive with blackcurrant, morello cherry and a sprinkle of pepper. A bright entry with focus and linear shape, there is clove, oak spices and black fruits with a note of inked blotting paper(!). Tannins are firm but integrated, and the finish is medium.

I think this is filtrated, too soft, artificial, drinkable and enjoyable, but I am not sure this is real wine.

Dark ruby color, bit of of earthy nose. I found the flavors subtle , perhaps earthy. was a little bit of heat forward after only decanting 1 hours but later 2 hours much smoother. overall reminded me of a Bordeaux. Subtle but dominant flavors of cherry, hint of licorice at the back end, and oaky spice also on the back end. So this is a subtle wine. So not what i was expecting from the posted description but very nice, …
