Took about 4 hours of decanting to come around. Was fine upon opening, maybe 91. After 3 hr decant improved. If I had more I'd decant at least 6 hours in advance. This was OK upon opening, after an hour some expansion, but the wine really comes alive after 4 hrs. Anyone who says just decant for an hour is not your friend! Oh my lord! What a debut for the new owners! Decanted for an hour between 4pm and 5pm, then poured back in the bottle and brought along for the tasting/dinner. Served around 8pm. What an absolute treat! Very approachable, almost “easy” and forthcoming, so much so that it was discussed if it was New World. Ripe, rich caressing fruit of both red and black origin.
