Stewed dark fruits, menthol and licorice on the palate, meatiness, slight hint of orange. Few tannins left and structure starting to tilt toward flabby (but not there yet). Drink up.

There is a stewed quality to the fruit, with a bit of the tabasco/capsicum lifting at the end. Not overly complex. Crimson in color. 14.5% ABV. Red fruits, mint and a healthy dose of leather on the nose. Medium body with stronger than expected acidity. Cherries, crème de cassis, plums and graphite on the palate. Silky, fine grained tannins on an exceptional finish. Great showing from one of the under appreciated wines in the Cayuse lineup. Drink over the next 2-4 years.

The least-standard Cayuse I've had yet. Nary the typical rocks & funk in this go around, although that profile began to emerge as I finished it off on night #2. The 2005 Camaspelo was a hot mess compared to this ... yes certainly more intriguing with its mashed-up ways, but not as elegant as the 2006 here. This has quite a few years left in it.

Delicious wine- was easily able to pick single bling out of 8 paper bag bottles. Only had cayuse once before over a year ago, ( 04 Armada) this mimicked the crazy ferral, animistic, wooly nose. Easy favorite wine of the night for me. Need more stat!

67% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, and 8% Cabernet Franc Popped right when the delivery arrived. Nice nose of bacon, muted cherry, soil, and mixed spices. Scent is reminiscent of Syrah. Rather subdued green taste very interesting wine. Opened up decently but did not show much. Very tannic with mild heat. Has a Sweet and Low quality to the finish. Well made just dull. Pomegranate, celery root, orange clay, seaweed, applewood, smoke and shit in the nose. Dark cherry, pomegranate, pineapple rind, a little bell pepper on a long palate. Lots of glycerine streaking the stemware. Combines stylistic aspects of St. Julian (think old-school Lagrange and Gruaud Larouse), as well as modern Right-Bank garage wines like Chateau Gracia. Fulfills the hype.

Really enjoyed this wine. Wasn't sure what to expect, and I was happy to find an unusual and wonderful cab blend. Smooth and EARTHY with a great long finish. Hopefully I will get an allocation of this some year...

True to Cayuse form, this was consistent in style with the 2005 I had a few years ago. Color: Medium purple red Nose: Aromas of Black currants, sweet bell pepper, tobacco spice and earth Palate: More of the same, medium to full bodied, smooth and silky tannins, but still retains great structure. Top shelf wine. The Cayuse wines are always so well integrated. This blend was a cherry and spice, flavorful beauty.
