Aromas show big toasty notes of oak, crème brûlée, charred marshmallow with notes of vanilla, dark cherry, strawberry preserve and hints of blue fruits, herbs de Provence, violets and red meats. Intense dark berry pie on the nose. Very oaky and buttery, with good acidity for balance, but not quite the searing acid I've come to love and expect from Cypher. Still, I find it more lively and less cloying than the '09.
