This is organic Matakana single vineyard 100% Dolcetto. Dense ruby-red colour, with nose of black plums. Palate has an immediate hit of peppery spice, and a big mug of black tea or even a slightly resinous, earthy pine bark edge. Complex and intriguing, and a long finish with lingering dried herbs. Visiting the cellar door and enjoying a yarn from the winemakers is definitely a rewarding experience!
