Delightful, apples and pears, well balanced

2020 vintage

Elegant Trebbiano wine from Lugana region near Lake Garda in the Veneto. Light golden color in the glass with aromas of fresh apples and pears evident at first opening of the bottle. On the palate, a medium bodied white wine with lovely refreshing flavor notes of the fruits above plus a hint of lemon. The wine is very smooth on the palate all the way through to the finish. Acidity is well balanced and gently refreshes the palate. Quite enjoyable.

Dinner was running late so I had to grab a wine that would show well as soon as poured. The Lugana hasn't disappointed so far, and the 2020 is no exception. Lime zest with hints of lemon curd and white peach; electric acidity that finishes crisp with limestone and saline minerality. Pale yellow. Immediately aromatic, boasting exotic tropical fruits like rambutan and lychee over subtle lemon curd. The palate that echoes the nose is ripe and unctuous. A trace of welcome acidity and minerality emerges on the finish to balance out the sweetness. Quite quaffable.

white pulp fruits, lime, slight salty wet rocks, slight bitterness. Good everyday wine but nothing more. Med(-) flavour concentration.

3.9. A WSET study wine, first time trying a turbiana from the Veneto region. medium straw color. pronounced nose; sharp citrus, lemon, green apple, and some vegative notes. M+ acid, 13%, off dry, M body. Palate is green apple and peach.. ohh so much peach. some salinity. M finish. this is a great value wine, really enjoyed it.

A very good reference wine of the Lugana appellation along with Ca dei Frati. According to Jancis Robinson et. al. "Wine Grapes" book, the grape variety here, often called Lugana, Trebbiano, Turbiano, and other names is actually Verdicchio. This is a bit rounder than others perhaps showing it's a year older than others I've recently tasted.

Medium yellow, medium bodied. A little fermented nose, match stick, flint, lemon, some tropical fruits. Quite ripe now. Simple but enjoyable. Great QPR.

30 year old vines? No. This is younger vines. Short skin contact, and then in bottle for about four months, and then into market. Lees and minerality, with a bit of power on the mid palate. Not a bad thing, Works at $15 or so.

100% Trebbiano di Lugana. Nice acidity of citrus, fresh, well seasoned with saltiness and bitterness, dry but minimum sweetness. Not fruity nor complex but still good with seafood. Nice QPR.

10€ here in Germany. Light yellow / gold colour, clear and bright. Nose: Not very intense, apricot, peach, lemon, pepper. 85 p. Palate: Medium intense, spicy, again apricot, peach, lemon, spicy & long finish, good balance, fresh & crisp. 87 p. I think this one should absolutely be served with food. Gentle, elegant, not very flashy overall. 86/100 p.

Nice, light Italian white made from Trebbiano. Good balance of minerals and glycerine with notions of white flowers and a light envelope of refreshing citrus (lime, grapefruit). Clean with lingering finish.

These people are responsible for reviving the DOC or maybe creating the DOC of Zenato. And because of the run-off from the Alps this would have allot of shale and limestone. Limey and mineral on the nose. With a touch of that Italian waxiness. Finish is lengthy. Works at $17.

Texture assez grasse. Notes très puissantes de poire en attaque et d'agrumes en fin de bouche, couplée avec des nuances de beurre. Acidité vive, mais en harmonie avec le fruit. Long en bouche avec un côté rafraichissant. Excellent rapport qualité-prix (16$ à la SAQ). Un petit bijou!!
