This is a nice aged Rioja. Brick red around the rim. Dusty nose with a touch of oak. Medium body. Drinking well. This is an aged wine, but certainly not over the hill. Enjoy now.

Russk. Blind clearly Rioja. But surprising elegant, clean and soft.

Cherry-red with tawny hues. Rich in aromas that develop into a subtle fullness. Well-developed, mature and very persistent. Strong body that compliments the textured structure. Fine tannins and a stern nose. a long finish. On the palette it pleases throughout that long finish. This also has staying power in the glass. (Many gran reservas fade as they stay open in the bowl). No real need for decanting. This was a fantastic wine; wish there were more in my cellar.

MNB: Rioja and Laterals (Home (Noe st)) : Medium minus ruby to a garnet rim. Slightly reductive nose - faint rubber. Hints of earth, dried cherry, possible brett. On the palate, dry, medium body, 14% alcohol (actually 13.5%), medium plus acid, medium tannins. Ripe juicy black cherry, with earth, light 4-EP (dog fur) tilted brett on the palate. Sweet cherry finish with some bruised savory age indicators and slightly papery tannins. Mostly used oak - maybe 15% new. - Grand …
