Decent bottle of wine for 12 bucks. I used some in my pot roast and drank some. It's a solid 12-15 dollar bottle of wine. decent fruit and finish. Little hot at first but smooths out after 30 minutes or so.

Poured into a stemless Riedel WingWings Cabernet glass is a dark garnet, bloody color clearing at the rim. The aroma has initial alcohol, soil, cherry, raspberry, and leather. A bit reticent out of the bottle but opens quickly in the glass. Flavors of blackberry, cherry, cocoa and vanilla. Light upon first sip and becomes sweeter after settling on the palate. Serviceable but not as good as previous vintages (2016 I believe was pretty good). Overall a good value but nothing qpr special. At this price point I prefer Substance. Tart cherries and a bit acidic. Astringent finish. Not much change on night 2 or 3 (which could be good, depending on your point of view).

Excellent value: it is a good balanced cab but I am as drawn to its place of origin as much as anything else, the Horse Heaven Hills being a place of wild beauty.

Dark garnet, veering purple. Syrupy sweet thick black fruit -- vanilla and blackcurrant -- moderate acidity, and soft tannins which grip and let go quickly. Raisin and salivating acidity in the finish. Not quite my style.

I'm glad I picked up a bottle. H3 was a go-to when I wanted a wine that works for people who are on the fence about drier reds. The last couple of vintages were a little disappointing, but this was more like what I'd come to expect from H3. An uncomplicated sipper carried by smooth dark berry flavors, vanilla bean, and a hint of toasted oak on the finish.
