Cabernet and friends : A blend of 40% Syrah, 30% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. Plums and green capsicum with a touch of VA lift. There is an immediate metallic note on entry and that sits on top of the wine throughout and mars the wine. Some chocolate and earth notes. The nose more successful than the palate for this one. Probably best for making ragu, drink up.

Medium purple with garnet high light. Black cherry raspberry and cedar. Hints of tobacco and green tomatoes. Palette is similar to nose as the acid and tannins are balanced after decanting. Good for another year or two.

Drank over two days. The bouquet featured an intriguing melange of green peppercorn, fresh sage, green tobacco, bramble, plum, blackberry, black and red currant, dark chocolate, cappuccino, graphite, and mineral dust. The green peppercorn and tobacco driven attack transitions into a lush and rich middle of berries and plum, dark chocolate ganache, and minerality. Dusty Tuscan tannins make their presence known at the back and linger through a blackcurrant, ganache, espresso laden finish of substantive length. The wine features a …

Purple with a vibrant royal purple rim Full bodied, vanilla + oak present, smokey with stewed dark fruit Some spiciness. Dry, nice tannins, well balanced New world style of wine, but older charm filters through as the wine opened up after hour two

Medium garnet. Intense nose of mint, dark chocolate, leather, a bit vegetal. Dry, full bodied and powerful, with melted chocolate, pepper, raspberry syrup, and dried herbs going to mint. A big modern wine that needs to mellow out.

Rot gut wine. The kind you drank as a poor college student, before you knew better. Absolute plonk. Either a bad bottle (but no clear signs of that) or terrible terroir and wine making. More likely awful wine making, as a good winemaker could produce better wine than this, even with poor terroir. 90 to 92 points? You've got to be kidding! Worst bottle I've had in a long long time. Drinking window? About as long as required to pour …

Very nice, good QPR considering the complexity here, overall very well done - Dark, full bodied with a nose of intense cherry, blueberry, plum, funk, mocha, spice and vanilla, nicely structured and integrated, quite complex, dusty, off dry on the palate with excellent length, nice! (90 Points).

Two bottles in a restaurant late Nov 2012: dark red color; red fruits and vanilla; slightly acidic on the palate; medium/full body; round texture.

Syrah based but then super tuscan. The point being to introduce people into the super tuscan category without paying a huge amount. Fleshy, fruity, tastes more cab then syrah but apperently its 40 / 40 syrah MERLOT, not cabernet. So I am completely wrong. At $25 it kills the category.

Dry acidic wine, burnt flavors and alcohol. Decent but never got much fruit or chocolate out as others suggested. Structure was good. Might be past it's prime.

Bouquet: Soil, licorice, currant with obvious poly-phenols on the front. Palate: Airy, light sandiness, soft grape and red fruits. Simple wine not superb by itself, but with a good garlic or onion based tomato marinara & pasta - an absolute hit!

Very good wine, Fruity with wood smell. Flavors were very smooth on initial consumption, turned spicy, dry finish. Just read the comment about letting it breath...concur.

40% Syrah, 30% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. Open red fruit on the nose. Palate is open, expressive, red and black fruit, spicy. Coffee, wood and warmth on the finish. Modern wine, not much complexity. Tasted at Selezione Toscana tasting in Florence

Almost jet black. Pop'n'pour. Big mistake; needs air. Withdrawn nose, some yeast. Overly tannic. Blueberries, spice. For the life of me I don't understand how this can be considered drinkable now, will save other bottles until at least 2012. Had parmeggiano and salume brought home from Greve.
