Brought this to Tunglok Peking Duck (Orchard Central) last night for a farewell for a colleague. We had silver bait fish, peking duck, crispy fried prawns, nai bai with Sakura shrimps, lobster porridge and mango sago. Glittering gold in colour. Aromatic notes of peach, apricot, nectar, honeycomb, and kamquat. On the palate the wine is lush, rich and delightful. At 15 years of age, this age is matured and with all the elements in place and pulling in the right …

Petrol notes on the nose. Honeysuckle, lime. Sweet and viscous but balanced well with acidity. Yummy but not the most complex.

Another gorgeous bottle. Off dry is apt for this, only a little bit sweet. There is some petrol on the nose but that's not really present on the palate. Pear and apple flavors, mineral, nicely balanced, with a REALLY long finish.

Wow, apricots, pear, honeysuckle all shine through. Very sweet on initial mouthfeel with residual sugar on the back but showed so well. Had with a 2009 and this destroyed it. I have one left and I don't know when we will drink it but it will be hard to resist to drink soon

Simple and pedestrian for a 12 year old wine. Not much intensity but still very gulpable. As with all sweet Rieslings, it went well with spicy food.

Cork crumbled in pieces when I tried to extract it but wine was fine. Color taking on a slight golden hue. This was ok, but skewed a little too sweet to me and felt out of balance because of that. I'll wait several more years before the next but I'm not sure that it will ever have the acidity to sufficiently cut the sweet/stone fruits.

Clear golden yellow in the glass. A terrific wine. Well balanced, honey, pear, stony mineral flavors with an oily texture (!), with some petrol flavors emerging on the very long finish. Moreish.

Clear medium yellow med- viscosity. Aromas of bright fresh lemon and a broad petrol nose. Mandarin orange and syrup, acid dances on the tongue. Long creamy rich finish of mineral/slate, lemon soufflé (egg white), and something vegetal or hay-like.

Pop and poured. At home. Appearance is clear, medium intensity, gold colour. Thin legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of slight petroleum, Yu Yee medicated oil!, slatey mineral, honey, sweet lemon, tangerines. Developed. On the palate, medium sweet, medium+ acidity, low alcohol (9%), medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of petroleum, slate minerality, honey, citrus lemon, tangerines. Long finish. Very good quality. Acidic cut could be better, but this definitely delivers in the department of enjoyment. A …

Great. Starting to pick up a bit of aged scents. Deliver juicy fruit with sweetness that never feels fat.

8.5/10 - Refer to prior note. Still a delicious riesling that ticks off all the right notes. Still would have preferred it with more acidity but the flavour profile is beginning to mature somewhat with a little petroleum, a little more sour citrus. Still just a little on the too-sweet side but suspect it'll get better with time.

Dinner with Monthly Group at Sichuan Dou Hua (Sichuan Dou Hua, UOB Plaza) : Another very pleasant bottle. It was too young though, at this point in its evolution this ticked all the right boxes without quite getting the pulse racing. The nose was very attractive as usual, with gentle scents of nectarine and white peaches along with a waft of flowers, earth and just that little petroleum edge. Much the same could be said about the palate as well. …

Medium yellow. Classic Riesling nose with slate, minerals, white pear, white flowers and a touch of petrol. On the palate it starts with white pears and lychee, but continues to more perfumed white flowers and stony notes of limestone, slate and other minerals. Very good length, with perfectly balancing acidity and freshness, as well as a tocuh of sweetness.

Good stuff--I love the 2007s. This was just overflowing with the grapefruit/tangerine bit at the side of the palate. Nice acid and ample ripeness.

A weekend with friends in Germany Mosel area: Part 2 : In the nose tart grapefruit, with fruits and minerals. On the palate minerals again, some petrol, pear, honey and peach. Pleasant balance between sweetness and acidity. Very tasteful and a long finish.

Nice Spätlese with some minerality, typical residual sugar, and a slight honey nature on the palate. Notes of apricots on the nose. Not overly complex, but nice wine.

Pale buff color. Clean and enticing fruit in the nose with a floral note - mostly pear and apple. Acidity is on point for Piesporter, elegant, lithe. This is a fine example of the best Goldtropchen sites in an excellent year, with a pinpoint balance of ripeness, fat and structure. Some sweetness, appropriate for Spalese of even twenty years back. Drink now for the fruit and suppleness, or keep for another eight years if you're seeking the petrol and waxy …

8/10 - It's hard to fault this wine as it hits all the usual right spots for a German spatlese. Honey, white fruit, lemon and lime, peaches, and minerality. Good mouthfeel and presence from start to end. A big hit with the ladies. However, this could do with a bigger dose of acidity for me. Despite all the above, it was just on average unexciting for me. That being said, for the price, this is most definitely a buy.

at Peter Chang's new restaurant with a bunch of people and bunch of wine. Great Acidity on the front and then honeydew, kiwi and lemon. Trip really enjoyed it. I thought it cut the heat f the peppers beautifully. I would take a lot more if I could get them.

Nose is honey, apple, and wet stones. Unbalanced, from my perspective, on the palate. Too much residual sugar, or too little acid. More honey in the mouth, while the wet rock disappears. Very pleasant, but nothing exciting for me. Clearly no tertiary aromas developed yet in such a young riesling.
