This wine has been a mixed bag. Mostly... meh. This was simple and enjoyable but definitely lacking.

Some red colour still. Cherries in the nose accompanied by herbs and herbal bitterness especially. Medium to low acidity for a Brunello with some tannins still. More tannins than 2017 for sure.

This is an interesting and very good Brunello, seemingly at a perfect stage of maturity at the moment where strong tertiary flavors are becoming dominant but there is still a lot of fruit. Pretty good PnP, improved and became more rustic with air. Would buy again, although not sure this is a wine for the long haul. Notably rustic in character from a brunello with an awful lot of barnyard and tobacco on the nose and palate. The color is …

Mature nose of mulberries, boysenberries and stewed black cherries with herb switches and a faint bit of roasting meat. The palate is decidedly less pure with cooked black fruits, leather and old, stinky, rotting wood. Time to drink up. That said, this is reasonably complex and complete and many will like more than I. Drink now. 90 Tatiana says 93 “fruit forward, tastes quite young” (she’s crazy)

Better than a bottle on 06/16/24 but still not great. In fact, this is just good enough. With this producer and vintage, it should be much better than that. Flawed again?

A slight improvement in comparison to my last note from 2.5 years ago. While initially closed, it opened up relatively quickly and evolved over a couple of hours. While nose was still a bit subdued, the dark fruit and tobacco flavors dominated. It was quite well balanced though and tannins were well integrated and made for a very nice pairing with homemade lasagna.

Hade till lammfilé med hasselbackspotatis. Väldigt bra kombination och vinet är bra moget just nu men har nog ett antal år kvar. Öppnade upp sig ordentligt efter ett par timmar, kommer dekantera ordentligt nästa gång.

Best wine I’ve had in at least a year. It seems to me to be drinking beautifully right now. Very long finish of ripe raspberries and red roses. I need to buy more brunellos!!

Was not at all a fan, when I tasted it two years ago. Had a rusty taste to it. This has completely disappear and this is now a very lovely lighter (Burgundy-ish) brunello. Bravo!

Stunning brunello. Went beautifully with our traditional tagliatelle bolognese -- and it really broke my heart using a cup of it for the sauce!

Typical red brick color with long "legs". Red fruit, rose petal, and a bit o smoke on the nose. Bright red/blue fruits with a bit of cigar smoke on the back end. Medium finish with well integrated tannins at this point. Lovely with a grilled steak. But not extraordinary.

Drinking beautifully. No decant. Wine opened up very nicely. In a very nice drinking window right now (drank several days ago- a bit late to remove from cellar). (Was a great Cellar Tracker AI pairing for the grilled lamb chops with herbs we had that night.)

Dark red with slight brown edges. No or very little sediment. Lovely red fruit on the nose mixed with vanilla, tobacco, spice. medium bodied. on the palate lovely red fruit with integrated tannins, some tertiary notes, dirt, plum but the fruit dominates. Long giving aftertaste. Truly wonderful wine - will drink good for another 5 years.

Upon opening, I was quite dissapointed. The aromatics were lacking and the taste lacked fruits. A lot of swirling gave me hope. This wine definitely needed all of 1.5 to two hours in the decanter. Once it opened up it was lovely. Soft edges, nice acidity. Dark cherry, blackberry and plum are the prominent fruits. Paired very well with ahi tuna.

14%. Showing the beginning of bricking around transparent rim. Beautiful deep sangiovese nose, effusive on PnP. Balanced on the palate, nice acidity. Medium bodied. Lingering mature finish, bit of tannins. Probably would have benefited from a quick decant. Enjoyable, maybe a bit more mature than I was expecting.

much lighter in color than I expected. Thought it might be bad when I saw the color but it was fine. Lighter bodied than normal brunnello but actually quite drinkable right away. Got better as it opened up a bit. Feels like its good to drink now, not sure if many more years makes it better

Lovely Brunello, definitely in it's drinking window, wonderful 🍷 Clear, partially bright, red color, lovely 🍷 Medium body. Medium plus acidity. Friendly tanines, noticeable but enjoyable and provide a nice structure with smoothness🍷 Lovely aromatic, barrels, terroir, red fruits, spices🍷 On the palate AMAZING and RICH in a balanced and harmonic manner, pomegranate, raspberries, strawberries, oak, chocolate, coconut, leather, stone, earthy, pepper, licorice, ginger, anise, plum, blueberries... a wawooo wine👏

Pop and pour, no decant. At 14 years, it doesn't look old, doesn't smell old and definitely doesn't taste old, but it isn't a teenage either. I would classified the wine in its mid-life. The color is a somewhat translucent beautiful ruby red. On the nose, it's dominated with cherry, supplemented with tobacco and herbal notes. Again, the palate is dominated with cherry, supported by tobacco, licorice, tea leaves and rose peddles with savory earthy notes and smooth minerality. The …

an unusual Brunello for sure - Double filtered (didn't need it) and aerated . Nose at first was plain sweet, then slightly fruity florals stepped in. Mouth feel was clean but too light and never really changed. Had it with a spicy meat dish which overpowered this wine. I can't rate this bottle.

Weird bottle variation where it looked like a 20 year old wine in the pour. And then tasted like one too with tannins almost gone, extremely soft on the palate. Yet it worked and was delicious.

Slow oxed about 2 hours. Cork was in excellent condition. Aromatic on the nose with dried strawberries, violets, raspberries, and very very very worn old leather but not much of that. A bit light and too smooth on the palate, acidic but mellows with food. A bit too light bodied and almost like it was diluted in terms of texture. Weak on the finish. Not a complex Brunello at this stage compared to many other producers 2010, which is very …

91 points - Solid with red fruit up front and some tertiary flavors coming through. Fruit is turning pruney and I would have guessed this was a lower end producer or an older bottle. Honestly disappointing given the vintage and other bottles I've had from Altesino.

Drak red in color with bricking. Very earthy aromas initially that takes a lot of time to settle down to show dark cherries, cinnamon/baking spices, violets and wet earth. Quite generous on the palate with crushed sweet cherry/plum compote, medium acidity, resolved tannins and an earthy and spice laden finish. Holding steady for a 2007.
