McManis Family Vineyards Barbera

OK, not great. Too sweet for most meals. Pass.

I've never been a fan of New World Barbera, and this one is really no exception. The oak is far too prominent on the nose, but there's a touch of cherry that comes through also. The two are a bit better integrated on the palate. You can get some better Barbera d'Asti or Alba at this price point.

Bitter and sour finish.

Full of Barbera character. Nice aromas of dark cherry and a little bit of barnyard, then lovely refreshing bright and vibrant cherry fruit integrated with dark chocolate, soft tannins and a good finish.
