14% alcohol. The cork is average in length and above average in quality. The colour is dark for Gamay with the remnant of a purple tinge at the rim. Fine red fruited nose, though not the most intense. The mouth has very good length and excellent acidity; what is missing is a bit of extra charm. Good grip. Very good but perhaps a tad disappointing in view of the pedigree. This producer has become very expensive in recent years, and …

Yesterday PN from Burgundy, tonight Gamay from its southern neighbor - Beaujolais. Shortly - this wine is not even close to yesterday juice.( I think I shouldn't drink them so 'close' to each other). It's somehow watery, very dry with no structure, weak on smell and taste. No balance ( too much spice and even black pepper, not enough of fruits). Zero of sweet notes. I won't say this wine is undrinkable, but I will say: no happiness inside the …

Made with organically farmed fruit sourced from 75-yo vineyards in the Montpelain lieu-dit at the border between Morgon and Lancié. 10% of the fruit is destemmed, the rest is whole bunches. The wine is vinified over 1-2 weeks using semi-carbonic maceration and submerged cap method in open-top concrete fermentors. Aged for 7 months in concrete tanks. 13% alcohol. Surprisingly deep and almost fully opaque blackish color with a slightly evolved pomegranate hue. The youthful nose feels very ripe, sunny and …

WOW nose of super concentrated black fruit, loads of poivre blanc... Loads of super sappy tannin, very elegant black fruit, length of 30 sec!!

Corked, a mild enough taint but enough to detract from the experience. This is my eighth corked bottle in 738 notes, so I am just over the 1% threshold.

14% alcohol. Good cork with vanilla aromas (where do these come from ?). Dark colour with a youthful purple tinge. Very fruity nose of wild cherries. The mouth adds notes of violet and excellent balance; the acidity is there, but it does not dominate. Very good length. The overall effect is superb, but it is not that far from a young Northern Rhône Syrah. This is so much better (for my palate) than anything that I ever had from Dutraive, …

Cleansingly astringent nose of grapes, violets and something suggesting caramel. Lush (with air), slightly grainy tannin, focused concentrated palate of dark fruits, caramel (or peanuts?), long finish. Will be interesting to follow over some years - I'm sure this will develop well.

Damn this is tasty stuff. Young, but a myriad of wonderful fruit notes, mineralogy and floral notes. Lots of typicity for a Morgon, with the fruit just being brightly supercharged. Medium bodied, fine tannins.

Deep purple colour and a touch of honey to the nose. It is dense and chewy with some sweet cherry fruits. Tannins are abundant yet sweet and there an uptick of balsamic tang.

The bouquet is a bit flat, the taste is fruity and fresh, a bit light and with a nice perfumed aftertaste.

Okhuysen Haarlem-Proeven tussen de Stellingen: quite balanced, serious, also the tannins; a classic style and needs time.
