I've never had a disappointing bottle of this stuff, from any vintage. The 2009 is a predictably excellent addition to the canon of fantastic and inexpensive Selbach-Oster Kabinett Halbtrockens. Electric acidity, tongue-coating power, good length, this is all lime and stones. Refreshing, food friendly, with just enough sweetness to drink on its own. It is not a complex drink (and mine never last long enough to find out what cellaring does to these), but an wonderfully satisfying one.

Aromas of green apple, lime and minerals. The palate matches stride for stride. Just a hint of rs, medium+ acidity.

Firne. Petrol is "resin" and it happens in heat stressed Riesling when it is planted in the wrong place. This comes from the "sun protectant" in the skins of the Riesling grapes, it is a "carnot" or carrot chemical. Which gives you the smell of resin. I am being told from Johann Slebach. If it is in a wine that is 2 to 3 years old it is by heat stress. At 25 years... it should be more resin and …

a fresh and airy nose, carries through to the palate. Not the most complicated of wines, but god purity, very well balanced, and delicious.

Consistent with previous note. Great with this evening's Cajun pork tenderloin.

Nice. Verbena and talc, honey undertones, blast of white-flowered lemony citrus, classic Mosel riesling. I relate to Kanjimoto's note.

Pale yellow. Lychee and honey aromas. Lime, rocks, quinine, and clove follow on the palate. Some nice sweetness, not too acidic -- I would have liked a bit more acid.

I love the minerality of this wine. Light and fresh.

Fairly light straw with a pleasant but unexciting nose of fruit, spice, and minerality. What I miss here is the Mosel slate. In the mouth there is good acidity and an interesting saline component, but only a fair persistence of flavor. This would be a great wine to start an evening off with but as far as pairing with food I think anything but the lightest fair is going to overpower it. Perhaps a bit young here in late 2011, …

Floral, mineral and citrus nose. Apple, lime and slate flavor. Balanced acidity and just enough sweetness to make it work with an assortment of Indian dishes this evening. This is very good and at just over $20, it represents excellent value.

Popped n poured, decided that this is too sweet for the dinner and forgot the bottle in the fridge for two days. Elegant, discreet nose of lemon and peach. The sweetness has toned down nicely but the acidity is still very much there. Fairly rich in tropical fruit and slightly tangy. Delicious sweet'n'sour flavor profile. Very good with various cheeses and good value for the 12.50€ I paid.

From a half. Straw colored; nose has minerals/slate, lime, lift; palate has fabulous acidity, low residual sugar, nice tropical fruit on the forefront that leads into clean acidity and a hint of effervescence; finish is clean and agreeable, but short and lacks intensity, 10 seconds after finishing a sip it feels like I had just sipped sparkling water. Overall an excellent value for a half bottle, a very good wine, but lacking the something extra to make it exceptional.

Good tropical fruit with nice wet slate components. Not entirely deep on the palate, but immensely pleasurable!
