I was able to get this ex-chateau, so maybe that is why I haven't had a flawed cork/bottle that some have mentioned. Generous nose of honeysuckle with crisp lemon and excellent length. Love the unctuous mouthfeel. I feel like these wines cost a fraction of their true worth, perhaps because of the residual sugar. Going to nurse the last five bottles for 5-10 years.

Not a good bottle. Got the expected wooly notes, but nothing else. Hoping the last bottle is still alive.

From 75cl of impeccable provenance, sound cork. Mid-amber colour. Dreamy mature Chenin Blanc. Honey, pollen, exotic roses on the nose; the entry has a dense, viscous texture; strong acidic gain on the mid-palate, with dancing quince, sublime pear, and perhaps a hint of apricot fruit. Tense, vibrating energy on the long—40 second—finish. Outstanding wine. This bottle would have held, if not necessarily improved, for another decade at least. 93P

After a fun, low-key blind tasting. This came out slightly oxidative but balanced beautifully with the touch of sweet fruit plus the sugar. In a very good spot at the moment for an original release bottling. Guessing this is probably at peak/plateau but should hold for at least 5 years.

A touch oxidative on the nose. Some fruit there but the oxidation is overpowering. And regrettably it is also corked. Waaaah! What a terrible shame.

Popped and poured at cellar temp. Deep orange gold color. Nose is still quite reserved, with some hints of caramel, orange marmalade and limestone. Lovely sweet citrus fruit with a hint of caramel on the attack but incredible robust acidity on the finish keeps it from being cloying. Opened to have with chicken tikki masala - I think it will be a great pairing. Despite the advanced color, this wine still drinks like a youngster at 25 with many good …

Deep gold color. Rich nose of honey, beeswax, and that wooly Chenin Blanc thing. Palate is quite rich on the approach, spicy, and with mouthwatering acidity on the finish. Hints of green apple and white pepper.

Unbelievable. Bought at auction and wasnt sure how it was going to show, but we need not have been worried. Poured a spectacular brilliant gold, and absolutely exploded out of the glass with honeysuckle, white flowers, and very ripe stone fruits. Exploded almost doesn't do justice to the intensity of the nose, especially after it sat in the glass for 30 min. It has been a long time since I've felt so much power coming from just the nose, I …

Deep golden with orange amber hue. The cork of this bottle was not as soaked (approx. 70%) as the cork from previous bottles, though all bottles have been stored under textbook conditions. This remains a bit shy and delivers medium intensity with scents of honey and peaches. On the palate in addition caramel, hints of orangepeel and campher. Tannic, medium intense finish. Only medium sweet, not ideal to go with a dessert, but with deer e. g. The 98 points …

"I wanna start clapping" (Chicago, IL) : I think there's something about how the 2002 Huet corks are bad and lots of the wines are premoxed. Guess we got lucky with this bottle. What a beautiful wine; so fresh and bright with just a hint of wooly chenin character followed by a sunny exposition of fruit. Just mildly sweet, the stone fruit notes are balanced by the acidity and minerality.

One of my guilty pleasures, this sweet chenin blanc from Huet. Super concentrated, beautifully balanced, well aged. Medium+ intense aromas of ripe peach, white raisin, slightly oxidative, honey, apple syrup, nectarine, orange, wet iron. Medium sweet wine, high acidity, full body, pronounced flavourr intensity, long finish. 12,5% - Remote tasting @ Wijnbar Pinot

Honey, floral, tropical notes and apricot on the nose. Medium bodied (12.5% ABV) with soft rounded fruit both upfront and through the middle, showing a good amount of complexity with the mix between orchard fruit notes (apple and apricot) and more tropical notes (orange, pineapple and mango). It has good density through the middle and the tart notes and acidity on the back provide good structure. The balance between the acidity and the fruit density positively contributes to overall quality. …

Beautifully candied nose of mango, pineapple, Opal apple, pear, vanilla bean, petroleum and orchid. Medium plus in weight, it fills the mouth with bright, juicy and mineral-driven acid that carries flavors of canned pineapple juice, green mango, Fuji apple, crushed gravel, white tea, orchid and Aloe Vera pulp. Quite tasty now with another solid 5+ years of drinking.

Saturday Older Wines Day OK, this is from this millennium, but still... :) This Moelleux is still very alive and kicking! With such a beautiful acidity as a backbone, that it is hard to tell this is a moelleux! Copper orange coloured. Medium intense aromas of oxidative tones, orange zest, calvados, apricot, nutty tones. Medium bodied palate with high acidity and flavours of apricot, nectarine, orange zest, honey, lemon, flint. Lingering finish, round mouthfeel. 12,5% - €? @ wijnbar Pinot, …

Orange tinted yellow. If one reads the community notes, it becomes obvious that there are some problems, as a lot of corked bottles for example, with this wine in this vintage. This bottle was stored under perfect conditions since release. First the nose is not only tight, but nearly non existent. With air in a bordeaux glass and nearly at roomtemperature it gives some notes of apricot, peach, caramel and beeswax. On the palate it is much better and shows …

In such a lovely place right now. Opened this for my sister, who is 21 and was born in 97, and she loved it. As did I! Pretty apricot color. Lovely nose of orange marmalade, honey, sea salt, candle wax, clover. Plump, yes it's sweet but the acidity is crisp and keeps it focused. This wine is all about richness, texture and balance. Apricot, candied orange peel, mixed with spiced apple, honey (lots of it) and graham crackers. Rich but …

2017s From Domaine Huet (Armit Wines) : Well this is barely getting going even at 21 years of age. It has a really fresh and pure mineral palate with a delicacy and light touch that surprises for a wine of this richness (note richness, not sweetness is the key here). Insane length, years of life ahead.

A Thursday night at Rich's (Chez Nanda) : Nose: The nose is refined and aromatic with honey, lanolin, spiced pears, red apples, minerals, peach tones, and white florals. There is excellent depth and while it shows the residual sugar, it is far from cloying. Taste: Full bodied with high acidity. The acidity provides a nice spine and is refreshing. There is excellent density, depth, and class with honey, lanolin, red apples, minerals, and peach tones. Overall: This is fantastic. It …

Meiningers Finest 100: International Wine Summit (Saalbau, Neustadt an der Weinstraße) : Still so fresh & youthful. Quince, dried apricots and a hint of honey. Lively acidity, medium body with a lot of depth. Long finish. Can age easily for another 20-30 years imo. Bottles was straight from the cellar of the property.

Maison Kayser - The Brad Kane Experience; 6/2/2015-6/6/2015 : color always scares me in the 97s. dark orange with a hint of gold. but as soon as one smells the wine - the fear dissipates - no sign of oxidation. papaya, sweet ripe orchard fruit. bit of dry apricots, nice acidity even for such a ripe and rich mid. finish is good but perhaps is the weak point right now.

Opened by Allred with dessert of a chocolate acorn cake with pistachio ice cream. This wine reminded me how much I like Huet and the fact it has been too long since I've had one (6 years ago). Amber yellow color. A very fruit forward wine with ripe grape, orange and honey notes. An integrated and flowing wine. 93-94 points.

Wine Spectator rates the 1997 Domaine Huet Vouvray Moelleux 1ère Trie Le Mont an impressive 95 points. I rate this wine 92 points, which directly aligns with the current CellarTracker community rating. This is my first exposure to a Vouvray wine and one of the most mature/aged wines I have experienced. This bottle was quite the treat. Echoing the observations of previous CT reviewers, this wine has a deep golden color and a healthy sweetness. Diverging a bit from most …

Whites with Teochew Food (Lee Kui (Ah Hoi) Teochew Restaurant, Mosque Street) : I really liked this. It was very young and rather outstripped by the 2002 Savenierres Clos du Papillon on the night, but it was lovely in its own right. Nose was absolutely beautiful, with salty sea-shells, flowers, mushrooms, dusky yellow fruit, beeswax, spice, dried mangoes and a honeyed after-tone. Very complex, very inviting. Palate was not quite there yet I thought. Still though, it had a lot …
