Joseph Drouhin Côte de Beaune

A copy of my first bottle of this - delicious! Two good and one so so bottles - sad it's gone.

Clear Pinot nose with lots of fruit. On the palate there are cherry and red fruit, some acidity and soft tannins. A good medium bodied Burgundy that has passed its peak but is still holding up surprisingly well.

Not obviously flawed, drinkable, but no where near as good as my last bottle. Acidity is a bit out of balance and the fruit not that well defined.

Out of the two dozen or so '95 red burgs I've had in the past few years, this is by far the one that's most ready to drink and it is showing great even on a pop and pour. Brambly sour cherry and blackberry fruit, excellent concentration for its modest designation with nice length and balance. Delicious.
