Remelluri, Gran Reserva, Rioja

Fuller bodied, less dry, and more plum/jam than many other Gran Riservas. Excellent.

Deep ruby colour in the glass. the nose is high on alcohol straight off the bat with a very savoury element dried flowers and herbs leading the dark cherry fruit backbone. The palate is more fruity with plums, raspberry redcurrants, some tart acidity lifting the wine and chalky tannins in the cheeks of the mouth.

The Papies join the 15,000 Tasting Notes Club; 5/15/2025-5/20/2025 : Did not decant nor did we feel the wine needed it at this stage. Soft modern almost but so well made a devout of any over the top elements or extraction. Just this is young and needs it time to develop and we but saw a small glimpse of what this can achieve with a few years more of development. Very pretty 91 for now but definitely could banging for …
