{screwcap, 13.5%} My first time with this grape. Bright garnet red. Nose is youthful; all jubey and fruit-like, in an exaggerated Montepulciano type of way. The palate here is nearly oak-free, with medium acidity, flavours of cranberries, liquorice, roses and violets. It's barely more than light-bodied, fresh and crips but never tart; it manages some slightly spicy character on the mid-palate, and finish on the short side of medium-length.
