From a pristine bottle, this wine had a gold center and clear rims. The medium intensity nose was all about nuance with its pear, quince, mineral, and white raisin flavors. This wine was rich and ripe but had huge, fine-grained acidity. Both sides of this equation kept getting bigger and bigger with air. It was ripe and yet somehow the sweetness tasted dry. Deeper yellow. Honey and peach. BA level weight, density, and sweetness. Brown sugar, stone fruit, and lime. Perhaps more intense and better acidity than another bottle we had earlier this month. Quite a mouthful for Mosel Auslese.

Precise and focused, with good enough acidity. Golden raisins and salt, the latter particularly noticeable on the finish. Honeyed, and particularly enjoyable after dinner. 8.5% ABV. 91+

Tulip yellow. Some botrytis evident. Moderately sweet. Lovely beacon of peach and apple fruit. Terrific feel and weight, with the richness cut at the end by good acidity and fine slate. Definitely a dessert-style Auslese. At a perfect point of maturity.

Rich and ripe flavors of fresh peach, lime, and candied lemon with a viscous, oily texture. Less mineral than other examples I've had from this vineyard, but the concentration of the fruit is probably just overwhelming it at the moment. This wine could go for a very long time, but it's definitely on the dessert end of the spectrum as opposed to being particularly well framed. Take a small chance and lay one down for a long time.
