Huchu Homare Brewery Junmai Ginjo Watari Bune

A distinctive sake. Notes of melon, but not much else - almost like a watered down flavour. Tastes fizzy even though it's not sparkling, and that almost takes away from the flavour. Not something we would choose to drink.

Darker yellow, green plum, quince, grassy note, "licorice, apple, pear"--real licorice in the finish. Good, but a bit cloudy, less clear flavors, slight astringency/shibumi. +3 SMV, 15%, 50% SB, Comparison: retasted 5 days later: Yuki no Bosha JG was all about Bright, crisp, juicy, clean, nice, vs. the Tatsumogura JG which was all about darker, richer peach pit, banana peel, umami and a rich long earthy mineral finish.

Medium bodied, medium sweet. A lively sensation -- almost fizzy. Bright tropical fruit (pineapple) over a base of melon. Kantō region; Ibaraki prefecture.

Honeydew melon, tart pear, celery, a hint of honey in the aftertaste. A little dense on the tongue.

Rich mouth feel, very smooth. Sweet, but not overly so. Tropical fruits.
