Mischief and Mayhem Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes

Stored at ambient basement temps over the years. Opened without decant and was ready to go. Nice overall with good structure and balance. Red fruits with a little spice.

Peranakan Dinner @ the Serenade (Martin & Joyce's) : A good village. Clearly a more extracted style on this, with a darkish purple core and lots of youth in the light pink rim. Nose was a little tight and unyielding, but certainly had lots of underlying depth, with notes of soil and stone, pepper and wood spice and a sprinkling of dried earth, all accompanied by whiffs of ripe dark fruit. Nice village burgundy with some red fruit, mineral, and that burgundy dirt. A little tart at this point. Could probably use a few years in the cellar to open up.
