Can't win 'em all. This reminded me of Angry Orchard Crisp Apple cider. One note, all apple. Showed a little better on Day 2. Drink now.

Disgorged November ‘24. First time enjoying this lovely rose from Marc Hebrart. Nice bubbles, aromas of yeast, strawberry and citrus fruits, copper salmon in color. In the mouth it has ample texture with flavors of sea spray, marzipan and not fully ripe raspberries. Just the right amount of acidity to appropriately cleanse the mouth and keeps you coming back for more. Very good QPR.

Small wine event (My house) : A nice little NV Brut that satisfies but doesn't excel.

I like this better than the brut bottling. This has good depth with a lot of brioche and candy. Towards the fruitier end of the champagne spectrum, but enough acid to keep it interesting.

Very enjoyable. This says L126 on the label and has some age, I think. I wouldn't keep much longer, but is very nice... rich and toasty. Enjoyed over two days for M-P's birthday with crab and smoked salmon and other bits. Great will all of them - versatile and with some richness. We really enjoyed this!

80/20 Pinot and Chardonnay. Chalk heavy village giving the Pinot Noir tension and backbone. And indeed, has very good tension on the palate. Precise and clear and really darn delicious. Superior in quality and above average in value if at $68. 5 - 6 g/L.

Big pear character with strawberry and rhubarb and raspberry underneath, bread crust, moderate richness, pretty good length. Nice balance, could drink a ton of this. 89-90

The Hébrart domaine is located right on the Marne, in the village of Aÿ, catty-corner to Philipponnat. Their 1er cru Rosé, NV is a 60/40 mix of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, aged in INOX (with a small portion of the PN added as vin rouge aged in barrique). What’s most important, is that it’s delicious. March 2010 disgorgement was... fucking delicious! Which was a great surprise as I paid basically nothing for these bottles. These have and are developing nicely, still plenty of life left in them which bucks the trend of many grower producers wines not standing up to time well. Just a fantastic rose champagne doused with playful red fruits, strawberries, raspberries, cream, with a great underpinning of salinity. Tertiary character still very well in line, overall the bottle felt quite youthful.

Love it with shells, dough, spice, lemon and sour apple. Nice acidity and medium finish.

It's a Big Birthday Celebration (Tilia, Mpls) : Light pink color. Small glass to kick off the afternoon. Always a welcome edition, soft, bright and focused with red berry fruit, dough, creamy texture, and fine minerality. 91+ to 92pts.

May 2025 Tasting Trip to Champagne, Burgundy and the Rhône; 5/22/2025-5/31/2025 (La Belle France) : Cassis dominates the nose. Hints of wild strawberry in the margins. Palate is more on the red fruits, a touch of quinine alongside the ripe strawberry. Tastes lower dosage than its 6 g/l

Always a standout and one of our house rosés. Creamy strawberry and raspberry; orange zest. Sweet fruited but bright and balanced. This rosé d’assemblage was disgorged January 2021.

Lemon yellow, lots of small bubbles, toast and citrus nose. Great by itself and with food. Wish I would have bought more!

Incredible QPR! Round strawberry, cream, stone minerals, lemon, and light toast.

We drink champagne because it’s Friday & rosé because it’s spring. Pale amber copper in the glass. The nose screams champagne with stone minerals, cream citrus toast raspberry and strawberry. Fresh acidity, nice touch of ageing notes and in general well balanced. Doesn’t feel like a rose given the ageing notes but super pleasant! For the price it’s unbeatable - will buy more.

All my previous bottles were from direct importers, versus I found this single on the shelf of a local retailer. It was significantly less fresh and compelling. Maybe it had been sitting around at 70-75F for too long. It still tasted like Champagne, it had lost some verve.

March 13, 2019 disgorgement. Lot 457. Excellent! Delicious and fun to drink.

Apple and lemon up front, brioche and marshmallow on the soft core, finish is gentle on medium acidity. Easy and delicious.

slower to unfold on the palate than the Extra Brut rose. Perhaps a bit more stern. or minerally, however the reward is in the long red fruit finish. This would be a re-buy.

needed to warm up and serve in a big glass to get the red fruit and floral aromatics

A private dinner (Restaurant 't Spiehuis, Soest, Netherlands) : Fruit forward, smoky Pinot Noir and toast, supple and juicy, easy going, lemon candy finish.

This bottle from lot L660 disgorged on 14 September 2022 was moderately corked (TCA) sadly. I notice this is not the first such report recemtly. Caveat Emptor.

I like it so much at this price point, that its become like a house Rose NV for hosting. Ordered some more NV Rose, but extra brut, to see if the difference is more towards my preference.

A New Years treat. Fluffy tart citrus and minerality without chalkiness but no hints of the pleasant yeastiness present in bottles drunk earlier

Pale pink color. Drank a coule glasses over 2 hours from Magnum. Disgorged 2020. Crystalline in its puirty, so elegant, bright strawberry fruit, creamy texture, ultra fine mousse, just singing tonight- a fantastic bottle to celebrate Christmas with the family.

This bottle had a slight corkiness unfortunately. The underlying wine was still drinkable, just not the bright and delicious juice it should have been.

Surprised by how this 375 have improved. Bought in 2021. Tons of fine bubbles lift this wine. Good balance and depth.

Sweet ripe green apple, juicy with good lift. Frankly, most of the time I prefer these unsophisticated Champagnes.

Deg. november -20. A summer flashback in december! Light, aromatic, creamy with fine bubbles. wild strawberries, citrus, mineral and some red grapefruit. Really pleasant.

Good stuff, richness and vroundness, brioche, white mushroom, crushed limestone, lemon. Smooth bubbles, orange marmalade, dry finish. Balanced and pretty long on the finish. Great start to a Thanksgiving dinner.

Charity wine dinner to benefit Hospice House (Samish Hill, Bellingham, WA) : This always over-delivers. Creamy strawberry, raspberry, orange. Perfect balance.

Crispy, light, refreshing, creamy. It was delicious and exactly wha you want in a quality champ.

Good. Lots of bruised apple. Some oxidized notes. Nutty. A bit of red fruit character. Hides the dosage well. Still lacking a bit of acidity and spark to get it to the next level. Fair at 40 dollars but the BdB is much better. 87-88

Pink rosé. Medium intense nose of raspberries, red currants, cranberries, some rhubarb, some roses, some lemon. Palate similar. Good freshness, medium intense mousse, chalky minerality. Tasty, but appeared to wane off a little at the end. Medium body, medium acidity.
