Flowers, spice box, smoke, tobacco leaf and red berries already cut through in the nose, and on the palate. Soft, spicy, fresh and crisp, there is a crunch to the sweet, ripe, red fruits, which are made even better by their, peppery-edge. The finish really lingers with its spicy, vibrant presence. The wine blends 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot and 11% Petit Verdot. Drink from 2025-2040.

Sehr Pauillac. 2027-2042 (Verkostet "En Primeur" im April 2022. Château Pichon Baron)

With a floral and pepper accented start, the wine moves to its core of black and red currants. Medium-bodied, soft, fresh and polished, the wine is bright, spicy, crisp, chewy and loaded with peppery red berries. The wine was created from a blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot and 11% Petit Verdot. It is interesting to note the large percentage of Petit Verdot in the blend. Drink from 2025-2040. 89-91

En-Primeur campaign for the 2021 vintage; 4/25/2022-4/29/2022 (Bordeaux) : Pretty, floral elements show mostly violet, earthy underpin, then some plum over blackcurrant. In the mouth it’s juicy and fleshy with dark hued fruit, slightly chalky textured tannins. It’s not particularly flashy but it is quaffable and eminently approachable.
