Som jag minns det vsentligen som frra gngen. Knns inte balanserat och har mycket slta. Denna gng har frukten ocks dragit sig tillbaka. Tror inte man ska spara detta.

Needed to breathe for at least 45 min. PnP overly sweet mid and afterstate, out of balance. Much better after breathing but lacking that depth and wow factor I was expecting. Off bottle perhaps? Or too long a wait before opening?

Rik smak, sitrus, passe syrlig etter 7 rs lagring. Til fisk/ grilla ulke. Nydelig og kompleks med lang ettersmak. Godt minne etter besk p DeMorgenzon i mars 2019.

The wine had an unusual intensity with a salty acidity on the first day. It was softer on day two, which made it more well-integrated. The nose was I bit held back when compared to the taste. White and yellow fruit with tropical notes. Some well integrated oak. Overall a nice wine provided you dont dislike the saltiness.

Agree with Agri and Hutch below in terms of description. I now understand why the people in Stellenbosch refer to this as the Chenin bench mark. I think it has pretty much everything if you like a fuller style of white wine. And superb value

I think Hutch's comments are spot on. If you are frustrated with Chardonnay, try this.

This is really lovely. Rich, round texture. White and yellow fruit. Ripe, but great acidity, everything is integrated, and beautiful. I think I would be lost tasting this blind, but it does hit the notes of Chenin Blanc. And there is nothing fat here. Special stuff. I am glad I tried it. Great intensity to this, it is really incredible.

I remember tasting this wine at the property in 2014, so I have fond memories of it. A richer style Chenin for sure, nose shows kiwi, honey, but also some chalky, salty tones. Plush texture with cantaloupe, kiwi and yellow apple fruit. Nice zesty acidity though, with slate, minerals and salt tones added into the mix with shaved ginger, nougat. Not my go-to style Chenin, as this is a richer version with some new French oak and maloactic fermentation, but …

Fort gouteux et assez ample. Gout de pches, de citrons confit et de miel. Belle acidit et vivacit. La finale est de longueur moyenne et sur la cire d`abeille.

Pale golden in colour. Aromas of lemons, peaches, and a minerality element. Nice overall balance, medium bodied. Creamy lemony, peachy flavours. Almond paste, medium length to finish. Some nice bitter elements on finish.

Very nice nose with lemon and soft almond notes. On the palate fresh and creamy at the same time, nice. A little bit like a mixture between a Riesling and a Chardonnay. Lemon, melon, white flowers, almonds and some wet straw on the palate. Medium bodied with a medium acidity. Good balance and a nice depth. Medium long soft-creamy finish. I really enjoyed this Chenin Blanc, perfect combo with sliced veal Zrcher Art. Drink now or until 2028.

Showing white pepper, ripe citrus, white peach, fruit hard candy, smoky minerality characters. A little bit fur is also shown. The acidity is high, but a medium+ alcohol gives it a wider body. Its flavour is more oaky, creamy. A ripe, buttery finish. Well balanced. Drink well now but may be more opulent after 2-3 years aging since it tastes a liitle bit tight now.

Outstanding wine. Beautifully integrated oak, balanced citrus and ripe yellow fruit, great minerality. Complex, very concentrated style, with an oily texture, lingering. 45-year old vines, gentle whole bunch pressing, free-run juice only, fermented and aged for 10 months in French oak vats (20% new), 20% MLF. Medium+ intense aromas of peach, lemon, tangerine, vanilla, toast, almond, grapefruit, butterscotch, iron, wet stone. Dry wine, medium+ acidity, full body, pronounced flavours, long finish. 14% WSET4

2017 DeMorgenzon Chenin Blanc Reserve was rich, spicy and intensely flavoured. The youthful Stellenbosch Chenin Blanc was clear and light lemon in colour without any sediment. On the nose, there were intense aromas of melon, apricot and acacia flower, followed by lemon tart, brioche and smoke. The mouthfeel was dry, rich and full-bodied, with medium-high level of mellow acidity. Intense flavours of grapefruit, spearmint and vanilla were present in a medium spiced angular finish. The alcohol was at 14.40%, probably …

Deep golden in the glass. Intense, but very pleasing aromas of yellow apple, melon, peach, brioche and butter. Wow, what a wine! Layer upon layers of complexity and it's still so young. Starts of juicy with laser-like precision and balance, then continues to a smooth, slightly waxy texture. Varietal expression on point, could be mistaken for Chardonnay, but Chenin has this acid that just doesn't match any grape I've tried before - it's high, but always blends in nicely with …

A rich pleasing nose of lemon, honey, peach and melon, with a hint of peppermint. Full-bodied palate with three distinct phases: first, rich honey, boiled fruit sweets (pear drops!); second, strong acidity with notes of lemon, grapefruit, tart green apple; third, a pithy/bitter but aromatic finish (touch of quince?). Strong minerality throughout. Very very very long! Brilliant.

It starts with tastes of ripe green apple and pear before transitioning to a very refreshing yet full oak and butterscotch finish. Really nice.

Think this wine is not yet at its peak. Fresh and creamy, but still some evolution left. I think this wine will show its best in 2+ years.

Well I thought it was rather fine - big, rich, Chenin-y (wooly) not as tight on the back end as the Samurs we were drinking along side it but methinks this was more fun.

Un vin riche, avec une sensation de sucre résiduel, très concentré en saveurs : agrumes, ananas confits, fruits exotiques. Une bombe de chenin, pas nécessairement mon style mais très bien fait dans un style Nouveau monde assumé.

Honey, lemon, and jasmine green tea on the nose with toasty vanilla and coconut from the oak. The palate shows beautiful balance between honey lemon fruit, rich vanilla oak, fresh acidity, and alcoholic power. The oak on this 2012 is less aggressive than the last two vintages. This wine is a prime example of SA Chenin and great QPR at $30. Drink now through 2022.
