Without boasting of organic production as Casaloste, presents a similar composition: recognizable notes of cherries on the nose with a high degree of concentration and imbalance in the mouth. Appearing relatively youthful for 20 years, this example clearly benefited from proper storage. Quite lithe and graceful, with excellent balance and firm structural backbone. This comes off clean on the palate with no distracting oak tones, and a more feminine style than typically encountered in CC, well suited to my palate. Finely resolved tannins, with all elements singing in harmony. I love what bottle age can do to some Chianti. A fabulous showing for this bottle.

Great Chianti from this historic producer near Castellina. has been a few years since I bought wines from them. always a great value. not very well known and that is good for the price :) very interesting nose and on the palate a lot of fruit, bit licorice, leather, touch of wood and well integrated tannins. The typical Tuscan Sangiovese acids has melted a bit. I think it's in the same league as Rietine, a small qualitty producer from Gaiole. …
