Maison En Belles Lies Bourgogne Blanc

Long elegant and linear. A nice slick salty mineral line floats above the palate with fruit that borders on tropical. Very enjoyable and super clean for a low to no sulfur wine.

Reductive nose blows off to reveal a really beautiful eccentric bouquet. Long and salty on the palate with a chewy texture and delicate tropical reflections.

This wine was a little disjointed upon opening; I gave it a few hours of air to breathe. There is crazy high acid on the palate. Acid aside, I agree with the “nutty” tasting note; it’s almost like burnt hazelnuts. The palate has a very interesting fruit profile, including melon and lime. I really enjoy this style and will hold onto my other bottles for a bit. This was absolutely delicious for the price.

Had a glass at Southwark in Philadelphia. The most notable thing is the wine's intense nuttiness, like a whole array of rich tree nuts. Macadamia, brazil nut, walnut, pecan, etc. The richness of the nuts is balanced by intense, sharp acidity. Some citrus and pomaceous fruits that were hard to specify and in the background.
