Appearance - Deep purple with garnet hue (3) Aroma - Tobacco, leather, cocoa, tomato stem, raspberry, blackcurrant (4.5) Taste/Texture - Blackcurrant, mint, vanilla, strawberry. Creamy mouthfeel with faded, rounded tannin and the lower end of medium acid. Quite sweet (3) Aftertaste - Medium length, creamy fruit lingers (2) Overall - Interesting cab sauvignon. Could have done with more acid and tannin, but that's probably driven by it's age. Needs drinking up (1) Total Score - 13.5/20

NobleRottersSydney - Christmas Lunch 2017 (Geoffrey's place) : {cork, 14.5%} Very advanced for a decade’s age. Bricking garnet colour. Tobacco, leather and aged vanilla oak nose. Cedar too. The palate has raisiny fruit flavours, spicy oak seasoning, and a slightly sharp, semi-volatile character. More old Barossa than cabernet; region trumps variety easily. It still seems too advanced though; the tannins have softened out, and it’s turning into a kind of generic older red. Dry finish, medium weight; drink up.

Decanter New World Fine Wine Encounter (The Royal Lancaster Hotel, London W2) : Deep purple in colour I found aromas of blackcurrant and white pepper on the nose. The palate is dense. It shows tight berry fruit and sweet spice.

Nutshell: the most unique cab I've ever had: nose like bell pepper so much so that it borders on smelling like salsa, should be tried if only b/c well made wine w/good structure but the ripeness of fruit and isolation of specific and unusual cab flavors Nose: early on bell pepper but as breathed got to salsa/tobasco like flavors Taste: taste much less exotic than nose, but still very concentrated with dark fruit/very ripe fruit flavors
