excellent out of the bottle

These 19’s were sitting on retail shelf almost 50% off from what 2010 vintage was selling for 11 years ago. Palazzo 2010’s were excellent so grabbed a bottle of 19. Low tones on nose, autumn leaves, dried twigs, leather and unfortunately something Bret like. Palate entry is smooth with creaminess but, there is also a bitterness with robust tannins on back end. Benvenuto Brunello London (Lindley Hall, London) : Angularity and a sense of delineation to this which makes for an inviting nose. Bright, ferrous notes play against dark cherry. It's clean and precise. Lots of oak that really only makes itself known on the palate and it's a touch pinched and drying.
