Comprised of 100% Carignan from ungrafted vines and receiving partial oak exposure during vinification, this deep ruby wine delivers a nice package of cassis, blackberries, Asian spices, espresso and dried herbs. Drunk over dinner, no formal notes. Nose of forest floor, earthy notes on ripe dark berries. Very intense palate, also on dark berries but getting quickly to a very dense licorice. The acidity keeps it in check. **
