Lovely balance. The fruit is powerful yet not overripe. Tannins are firm and smooth at the same time. Balance is great. It has a long future.

Drank with raclette and manchego, alongside a Wynns Black Label 2021. Big step up from the black label, much more mellow, yet it still tastes very dry w big tannin. Needs some more age? Definitely should have given it a proper breathe. Touch of liquorice, nectarine, and a basket of fruit I can’t quite identify (thanks, cheese). Aside from the tannins balance is beautiful. Day 2 With a robust, very flavoursome steak. More breathing. Easily stood up to the big …

Good reviews on site - my thanks to the authors. I discovered a case of this as I was busting my back looking for a bottle of 2015 Marsanne. It only took the movement of 42 cases of wine to find the Marsanne. All sorts of other unexplained things turned up - a case of mixed Grange vintages, various Guigal La Mouline and La Landonne and happier purchases, too. Far more Hun Riesling than I ever suspected being most prized. …

Aging very slowly still quite syrupy. But it has lovely fragrance and balance. It’s a classy Black Label, more charm than the average vintage. I expect it will deceive many by lasting decades. 13.8%, screwcap.

This wine has continued to improve since I tasted it back in November 2020. Deep purple and colour with deep to dark depth and brilliant clarity. Aromatic aroma with aged intensity. Cherry and Forest berries predominate the nose. This wine is dry full-bodied and lively. Medium tannins, intensely flavourful with cherry and plum predominantly on pallet and earthy Coonawarra overtones. Well balanced, sophisticated and mouth filling and very moreish with a good Wagu steak. Drink within three years as time …

Still rather primary, syrupy. Very blackcurrant no Coonawarra eucalyptus. Not the best time to drink this wine. It’s not awkward but over the next decade it’s going to be a bit… well, moderate rather than exciting/interesting.

NobleRottersSydney - Stephen's Wynns Cabernet vertical: 06-15 (Glass Brasserie, Sydney) : {screwcap, 13.8%} [Stephen] Similar to the previous wine I thought (2009!), quite youthful, with big fruit, primary in character, blackcurrant in nature. Low/medium acidity, low powdery tannins, but with a bit of oaky astringency at the end of the short/medium length finish. Soft, gentle palate overall. Good value for money. A bit of a crowd-pleaser. One of the few wines tonight I’ve also drunk quite recently – I should …

{screwcap, 13.8%} Currants, leafy herbs, ripe black fruit - right in the slot. Some development and burnishing of both colour and aromas. Low dusty tannins, medium acid, loose and easy palate, medium weight, and a gentle, almost-medium length finish. In the traditional of the label. Drinking nicely now.

Tomato bush and tobacco. I’ve had this vintage half a dozen times and it never fails to satisfy. Juicy little red berries with some black and blue fruit thrown in. It has licks of herbs, sugar, spice and other things nice. Good thwack of acidity still, and fine ashen tannin. Only a hint of mint, though others at the tasting found mint more than I did. Perhaps it blows off with time in the glass/decanter. Anyway, speaking of time, this …

2015 Wynns Black NB42 TASTING (Surprising) wine of the night given the wines on the table. This could be had for under $30 on release. A key vintage. Rich, savoury, but balanced. Ripe plum and cherry, with only the faintest touch of Coonawarra mint and the finest dark chocolate through the finish. This felt a lot like a fine McLaren Vale Cabernet. Tannins melt, and are completely absorbed in to the wine providing a structure for a very long drinking …

So good for the price. Smooth and savoury, excellent slightly powdery tannin , good acid, big length. Aromas of dark fruit, chocolate , some slight coffee, earthiness. A great wine, built to cellar for decades to come.

Good example of Coonawarra. A step up from the black label v15. Fine structure, soft tannin, could be a great wine. A touch simple now, but I think better to come 93-95

When poured into a decanter, the predominant rich sweet fruit lept out markedly. Pencil shavings of quality wood and a whiff of underlying greenness were evident. The typical blackberry flavours were long and satisfying while the acid was surprisingly muted. The mouth grip on the finish suggests that another five years may further soften the finish although I doubt if the wine’s complexity will improve noticeably.

Great wine, great vintage in the sturdy, reliable Black Label heritage. Lifted notes of mint, tobacco and a good dark berry base. Good stuff. Look forward to seeing it age.

Delicious deep dark berry flavours on the nose and the palate shows these characters integrated with vanilla oak and some dusty tannins. Interestingly there isn’t any green capsicum or leafiness on the palate making the wine very appealing, approachable and hard to resist. Sadly it’s drinking so well I don’t have many left to see how it develops.

Taste with Langton's Wynn's Masterclass (virtual event) : Appearance: mid-deep mulberry, not showing much development so far. Nose: blackcurrant, tobacco, milk chocolate, some vegetal notes. Palate: medium bodied, well structured with lots of acidity. Long dry finish. Very good.

Wow, what a wine! Way too young at the moment, but has the juice to bring it through a loooong aging process (something the 90s John Riddochs were capable of). Great structure, great tannins, great acid. Banger.

This has everything that the black label has, but just that little but extra, more structure, more structured tannins, more balanced, longer finish, a little more oak (~40% vs. ~30%), however everything in the correct proportion. I would wait 5 years but then drink over the next 20.
