Tuscan wines - dinner/tasting with fellow enthusiasts. (Maceda Restaurant - Varna) : Nice overall balance, medium weight, you can sense that there is promise, but it did not make it that night, stayed muted. Reported excellent the next day, while Nipozzano never came back. So great vintages need time, and Antinori knows how to make balance and age worthy wines. Bought on release from Italy €10, now I see retails @ 20.

Very dark color. Nose is very muted - leather, spices, licorice. Powerful in the mouth, with some spices, leather. There was some dark red fruit, but really had to search for it. Nice texture, well balanced. Just wish it had more fruit. Perhaps past its prime.

A very good bottle. Classic aroma of cherry, herbs and some leather. Cherry on the palate, some tannins. Excellent QPR.

Dark red color, Some Vainilla and metal notes on the nose (no fruit), not much on the palate, a bit of dark cherry, medium finish. As it best about 1 hour after opening, got worse after a few hours. Nothing great.

Tasting: dark rich wine; slightly concentrated, nose full of raspberries, fruity; mouth: raspberries, black currants, cherries, tobacco leaf, oak, full and complex soft tannin, good after taste; bold & full bodied, alc. 14 %. Classy and decent Vino Nobile; gentle and impressive, nice label; bought for only 14 euro

Just a short note: Quite typical modern Sangiovese, but a bit rustic and not as elegant and pleasent as the Poliziano Nobile. Seems more like a Chianti Classico. Drink or hold.
