It took quite a long time to find the bouquet; still closed, but finally little white flowers combined with a hint of citrus and smooth spices, medium acidity, nearly stone dry, concentration in the midtaste and a long aftertaste.

One piece cork, no seepage. Popped and poured. Tasted over 120min. Quite youthful, some oak comes through the refreshing acidity. Pear, oak, brine. Very nice muscadet with some upside. Drink or hold to 2022. 12% abv

A great wine in its own austere way. Pretty pronounced toasty lees character very reminiscent of a good quality traditional method sparkling wine, full of appetising quince notes and driven by pleasant bitterness and salinity.

Loire Valley Masterclass and Tasting : Grapefruit, orange peel, lemon and floral laundry powder. Nice mix of ripeness and scything tangy acidity on the palate. If it were a touch longer I'd really be into this, but as it was I just liked it.

I thought this was very good. Still way too young, but very enjoyable. It had a little yeasty funk when first popped, smelling somewhat of bread and cheese, but with a little air, this quickly gave way to salty scents of oyster-shells, lime peels and white fruit, with a little touch of white flowers drifting along - subtle, but attractive. The palate was more impressive though. It was very full, with a lot of presence and depth, but there was …

(NYE lunch w Louise @PaulS') Light, clean perfume of white fruits + white florals, yeasty cheese with bits of hay, grassy limes. Crisp acidity, more white flowers, and highly minerally - slatey and oysters. Sweet and buttery finish, lifted with a twist of lime. Highly textural and classy - Enjoyable!

Grand accord avec pâtes, truite fumée, ricotta, citron et persil. Le vin est splendide de pureté et de précision.

Nose of citrus fruit and salt. Palate was bigger than most, lemon, salt, some floral.

MuscaDay 2013 (Tom's House - Washington, DC) : Simply superb. Aromas of lemonhead candy, mango and limestone. The palate is rich and plush, with orange pulp and white flowers. I love the richness, but it still shows intense mineral and acidic verve. This and lobster with butter... incredible pairing.

Langton's Cellar Club Tasting 11 December 2012 - Pierre de la Grange (Luneau-Papin), Champagne Delamotte, Balnaves of Coonawarra (Roof Terrace Australian Museum) : Medium minus intensity, very neutral in fact. Some cream, yoghurt and cheesiness...it's very savoury and there are some slight citrus notes...the profile of the wine changes over time. It really is very nice.

Nice seashells with creamy citrus and florals. Not as much acidity on the palate as I figured, but very nice!
