FINALLY! This wine has entered its peak drinking window. impulse control paid off in holding back a bunch of bottles. This dense wine so beautifully integrated the dark, austere Veeder fruit notes with spice, wood, mineral and forest notes. I saved 1/2 bottle in an ETO decanter for tonight to see the changes after a day. This is a beautiful wine that is damn good right after the pour into the decanter.

I probably drank 80 bottles of wine from this venture. I’ve never once had a cork bottle of wine, but this one was the exception.

Two hour decant. Nose was a beautiful medley of primary dark fruit and secondary spice notes. That was followed by forest floor and mushroom notes. Drinking over 90 minutes was a nice experience. This wine is in a prime window. The medium to dense wine had well integrated primary, secondary and tertiary notes. Veeder wines are dense wines that are not fruit bombs. I genuinely appreciate the depth of flavors that range from spice, woodsy, forest floor and beyond. Subtle …

Huge O'Shaugnessy fan, but this bottle wasn't quite right. Notes of VA and an overly pruney nose that never blew off. Some great/dark fruit underneath, but it struggled to get out. Good wine, but not great.

Really good! 1hr+ decant. Drinking at its apex. Dark red color with purple rims. Super complex nose with too many things to list. Palate is equally complex with Napa sweetness, big tannins, and it just sticks to your mouth/tongue. Medium plus depth and finish.

2 hour double decant back into the bottle with a silicone stopper and placed back into the cellar to chill for 2 hours before taking out to a local restaurant for dinner with friends. Initial decant: dark purple, nose of dark red, some blue/black fruit, a bit of florals. Palate of medium weight black fruit, slight astringency on the back end, but very enjoyable, maybe 91-92? At dinner: allowed to slow ox tableside for 2+ hours. Gained weight, smoothed out, …

My last bottle of this vintage, and it's drinking great. Part of a Syrah vs. Cabernet night with my wine group. This was our WOTN. Long finished, nice balance between fruit, spice, acidity. Not quite full bodied in my book, with a long finish.

Opened a magnum of the Veeder and gave it a half hour in the glass. It was spectacular. Rich with silly mouth feel and intense red & blue fruit cab favors, but still light on its feet and not weighty. Nose opened up after some extended swirling in the glass. Delicious mount Veeder fruit. Despite some nay saying of the 2012 vintage, I love it, and this is a perfect example. This wine could go on for a decade or …

An excellent bottle. Brought to a special California vs Bordeaux face off. The Napa Cabs were all terrific (Maybach, Dominus, Spottswoode, and O’Shaughnessy). Beautiful nose. This bottle in particular still had some dark fruit characteristics on the palate and nice rounded but soft tannins. I like my Mountain fruit wines to have a few years on them. I really enjoyed this and have a three more. I would say if you have them that this is in a nice drinking …

Solid O’Shaunnesey wine from Mt. Veeder. Its youth is gone and so is the ripeness I’ve experienced with younger OS wines. More depth, blue fruit and ash on the palate. Medium finish. Pleasurable wine.

Typical mountain fruit , high in minerality , black berry and plum. Grippy tannins and a 15-second finish.

From the onset after 30 minutes the nose was a floral excellence with dark fruit protruding as a draw. The nose eventually came out as a floral herbal essence with herbs of some sage. Flavors followed with cherry essence both black and red. The tannins were expressive with a good acid balance that was long. A beautiful Cab from Napa!!

The nose upon opening was dark fruit tightly wound with spice notes. 90 minute decant. OMG! Dark black fruit was beautifully paired with some violet, cedar, and quartz notes. Drank over two hours and the tertiary woodsy, loam and floral notes began emerge at the end. The tannins were never harsh and carried the flavor changes nicely over the course of drinking the wine. I can see this wine moving up 1-2 points over the next 10 years.

Drinking well now. Can age 7-10 more years for sure. Mountain wine with big tannins. Tannins softened after one hour decant and more in the glass. Black fruits with some leather and tobacco. Delicious.

Decanted at a restaurant and served in high end wine glasses. This was a great Napa Cabernet. Wish I had detailed notes, but was too busy enjoying it!

Decanted for about 90 minutes. Definitely needed the time. Very pleasant warm fruit notes with some sweet spices. A nice back part of acidity. Medium length on the finish. Very pleasant to drink and in good shape. Does not seem to be going anywhere.

I shared this with my wine group as part of a Napa tasting at steakhouse. We had, in order, 2007 Larkmead Firebelle, 2009 Larkmead Vineyards LMV Salon, 2010 Beau Vigne Cabernet Sauvignon Romeo, and the 2012 O'Shaughnessy Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder. I had this as my 2nd favorite, just a hair behind the LMV, others had it as their favorite. Long finish. Full bodied, and I agree with WA's note of "meaty." It went really well with the steaks.

Ready to drink, and so we obliged. Should be great for another few years, but no need to wait. Dark fruit, pencil lead, tea on nose. Went well with Snake River Farms wagyu bavette with kosher salt and cracked pepper.

From magnum. Incredibly dark purple, crimson ruby under a flashlight. Dark purple fruits and crabapple on the nose. Dense, tannic notes of mixed berries, plums, and sweet crabapple. ReLly excellent.
