Prior bottle was just over 2 years ago and the wine has improved almost exactly as I'd hoped in that time. Red cherry, earth, leather and mineral notes on the nose. Medium bodied with rounded red cherry upfront, better depth through the middle and better balance as well. Tart red cherry, spices, acidity and tannins on the backside but they are in much better balance with the mid-body fruit and the integration between mid-body and finish is more harmonious. The …

Worse than the last bottle from a year ago...close to undrinkable.

Prior bottle was again just over two and half years ago and this wine is positively evolving, just slowly like you would expect of a traditional Piedmont wine. Red cherry on the nose that seemed brighter than previously, coupled with light leather and more earth and mineral qualities than before. Medium bodied with red cherry upfront and while it retains the acidity-derived brightness, it's much more rounded and balanced than before. Continued to show a bit of additional depth through …

Coravin half bottle. This bottle is worse than the December one, with tart red fruit and somewhat astringent. Still good with Italian food, red tomato sauce and meatballs. These were from Zachy’s and all of these Italian wines have underperformed. Paid $20; $40+ retail? Not good value.

Wine significantly outperformed for me. Seemed much older than it is with a very nice color. After a two hour decant, very enjoyable. Well integrated. Really enjoyed this wine. Fantastic.

Tight, lean, tart and astringent. I have two more bottles and will do my best to forget about them for a few years and hope for magic.

Prior bottle was a bit over two and a half years ago and like many 2009's, my notes haven't changed all that much. Retains the nose of red cherry and leather. Slightly above medium bodied with lots of red cherry upfront, still with good brightness, followed by some raspberry for depth and tart red cherry towards the back for balance. Acidity isn't quite as pronounced as the prior bottle until you get to the backside, but the tannins are still …

Red fruit, floral, mineral. Not much acidity. Best with spaghetti and meatballs, which brought out all the flavors. Perhaps needs more time? Just ok for its $40 retail; I am glad I paid $20.

Drinking very well for a youthful nebbiolo. Very nice floral aroma, lean and angular with an acidic backbone as expected. Doesn't drink like a 14.5% ABV in my opinion, in a nice way. Decanted for an hour and was a pleasant sipper - 'paired' with a selection of salumi, which although a non-traditional pairing, worked well. No cheese selection so unsure of how that works. For $40/bottle I found it to be a fair price.

Pretty dark fruits with good acidity and minerality and silky tannins. Very fresh and enjoyable. I will not age these, but enjoy its fruit and freshness.

Smells great right off the cork pull. Flowery, perfumed, roses, Lovely smell indeed. Soft and supple on the palate. With fine grained tannins. Nice texture notes Alan and I do agree indeed.

Even better than the first time I had this. Really showing great right now. I want to give this a 90 but think that 89 is right now and that perhaps I over scored it (also 89) previously. Great place right now. Enjoy.

Clear ruby with minimal residue. Brick on the edge. Fruit is obviously receding, which is a mighty disappointment to me. Not sure how it will develop though. I would suggest checking back at least 6 months later.

We brought this to share with my brothers over the holidays, but it was horribly, horribly corked. Almost made it through 2014 without a spoiled bottle, but not quite...

You know when you have a few bottles of a young wine, and you open a bottle or two young and it's just so good, and you keep a few more bottles to see how it develops, and the issue is when you should open them, sooner or later? My tastings of a few bottles of this wine in 2013 were all very positive. But this most recent bottle was not as good. One year since my last bottle, and …

Red cherry and leather on the nose. Medium bodied and good smoothness. Bright red cherry on the front, backed with raspberry. Tannins added good structure on the finish. Still has room to improve as I expect this wine will smooth out and integrate a bit more. Not a tremendously complex wine, but does hit all the right notes and is drinking quite well now.

Not decanted, consumed over ~3 hours. A pretty wine (and the least opaque red I've seen in a while), this started off light and somewhat reserved but it gained a little heft with time in the glass. Black cherries and pomegranate/currant with oak, dust, and dried herb notes. Good acidity and structure, present but not overbearing. While not a concentrated or effusive wine, it is a pleasant one with some air, and one which seems to have modest potential for …

Classic Barbaresco nose- but this felt thin and lacking something. A tasty lower end barbaresco.

Bought on sale based on Keith's and PKnut's notes. I'm new to Barbaresco and so don't have much context, but this was a very nice bottle, with great structure, including slightly burly tannins and good fruit in reserve. Very taut and intense, with no sign at all of warm-vintage slop or sag. I would vary from the view that it's completely accessible now: mine took overnight open in the 'fridge to come together, and even then was very youthful. But …
