A great dinner wine that was well structured and expressive. The nose was earth and dark fruit. The profile starts with bright, acidic fruits grows to the darker dried fruits and falls off nicely with brisk acidity and mouth coating tannins. As it opened up the fruit became darker and more forward.

not as brght and light as it should be, and as it has been in prior vintages.

showed nice when popped, but after about an hour it really started to show deep dark fruit, nice structure and balance. Amp'd up compared to most Dolcetto's i have had, very nice.

what a killer dolcetto, super concentrated and packed with fruit, the nose almost seems like a great pinot if it came from piemonte, it doesn't make alot of sense to rate a dolcetto based on complexity

Medium in body, nicely balanced with ripe fruit notes and a slightly spicy finish. The Dolcetto was a nice compliment to pizza, and was good on its own.

Bright colour, with fair translucency. A bit thin and tart to start, with not much much on the nose, but better after an hour or so. Still remained a little dumb on the nose. Brightish fruit palate but not much depth. Sort of grapey, and acidity a bit prominent. Some christmas cake - like dried fruit and alcohol. Slightly powdery and dry finish. Not sure this is my thing.

Karl House: Brite dark violet-purple; red plum, cranberry, dry herbs; easy entry! low t’s, but then dry, fine t’s later; fairly mild mid p, hint bitter almond at end; Int. beaulolais-like juiciness, but less frt, drier--needs time IMO.

Medium-light bodied. Dark coffee notes with a sweetness on top. Delicate and light with very nice balance and a bit of tannin. Drinking well, but will probably age well for at least 3-5 years. A pretty wine with a long acidic bitter finish. Like a mini-Barbaresco. The best Dolcetto I can remember. B

Deep purple in color, this wine is has a ripe fruit flavor, with a slightly spicy finish. Classic Dolcetto that goes great with red sauced italian pastas and pizzas. Tasted the 2005 in Bonaire earlier this year with jwobkk after a day of diving, which was slightly better than the 2006. Given a little age, this one should improve.
