Maison Bleue Grenache Bourgeois

Wine's in a great place--could do with a touch more acidity, but lovely. Cork was not in a good place, and it has simply sat horizontally in my cellar since arrival from Walla Walla in 2016.

Moderate to light color. Clear. No browning. Subdued nose. Big,, deep, earthy mouth feel with lots of cherry and raspberry. A shock given the lack of fruit on the nose. Moderately long but somewhat simple finish. A bit short on acidity to my taste .

Massive TCA. My wife called it the second she popped the cork.

Just about a perfect light bodied Grenache. Great balance of soft red raspberry and cherry fruit along with good acidity. Medium to long vibrant finish.

Cherry hard candy nose. Smells very sweet. Medium body on the palate. Not a whole lot of flavors on the palate. @ 14.5%, it's not particularly hot, but the alcohol stands out. Slight bitterness on the finish. Not much of a finish otherwise. I don't see much benefit of aging this wine.

Bright purple/red color with medium length legs.Strawberry and other red fruit, medium depth, short to medium finish. I lkie the 2012 better as it seems fuller and deeper in flavor.

Cherry and plum flavors of medium density. There was a sharpness that seems to overwhelm the fruit and detract from the overall taste. I am not sure whether this reflects the acidity of the wine, or the minerality of the wine. This wine just arrived within the last week and so I would like to see how if tastes in another six months or more. Other grenaches from Maison Bleue seemed to have better balance in the fruit/acid axis.
