The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like cherry, prune, dust, flint, coffee, chrysanthemum and violet. It tastes like prune, strawberry jam, cherry, dust, mineral, stoniness, light toast, vanilla, clove and violet. The body is medium. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

Decent, but not quite what I've come to expect of this bottling. Nice nose of dark red fruit, licorice and baking spices. Flavor was a bit hollow in the mid-palate and faded quickly.

First bottle that we have opened in almost a year. Earth, mineral and rich black cherry nose. Raspberry, bing cherry and a little earthy spiciness. Fruit forward but, at least by California standards, not over the top. Excellent and getting better.

This is really hitting its stride. Dirty black cherry with vanilla, pine needle, and mixed spices on the nose. Fairly well balanced on the palate. Tannins are still noticeable with red fruit, earth, and a ton of spice. Definitely boozy but a really delicious wine that may still get better.

Very nice and smooth PN. It's the first Foxen I've tried and I'll definitely be looking for more. Lots of fruit flavor with maybe some black cherry and a bit of earthiness to it. Quite dark red for a PN as well. Good stuff.

Nose was candied cherry, forest floor, and spice - a little dirty smelling actually. Balanced on the palate. Red fruit (especially cranberry) wasn't overwhelming. A little hot on the back end. Good but a little disappointing considering the pedigree.

Tasted at 59 degrees immediately after opening. Ruby color. Aromas of mineral, earth and ripe fruit. Black cherry and spice flavor. Great fruit and acidity. Our last bottle from this winery was the 2008 Julia's Vineyard. This wine is more restrained. Although I prefer the Julia's Vineyard both are excellent.

Great fruit and a beautiful nose. I was very impressed with this wine. I look forward to tasting it in 3-4 years. It should be incredible then.
