Domaine Sylvain Langoureau Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Derrière Chez Edouard Blanc

The colour is a bit darker than two years ago, and aromas have really developed. There's typical chardonnay fruit with some hazelnut, a hint of ginger, some vanilla from the oak, and even something that reminds me of saffron. Really nice combination of floral, fruity, and nutty tones. Good acidity, medium length. I think this is at its peak and will no longer substantially improve - warmly recommended!

Really wonderful complex aroma, as others have mentioned, that is starting to show some age with floral and nutty notes. It has a high acidity and good structure that suggests it might still improve. The length is somewhat disappointing.

Quite enjoyable, will aim for some more bottles for near term consumption.

Surprisingly minty on the nose. One also find some tropical notes and banana esters as well adding to the complexity. This one has great deep structure, a rich med plus attack of lemon tones moving to stone fruit finishing with med plus acidity of grassy, slightly tropical (again) notes. The best Saint-Aubin I've ever had.

Citrus, subtle lees influence and some orange blossoms on the nose. High acid with lemon, lime, and even some orange notes on the palate. Finishes with a unique note I couldn't put my finger on and some great minerality. Good stuff.

Domaine Sylvain Langoureau Cellar Visit and Tasting (Day 3, Visit 1) (Gamay, Saint-Aubin) : Barrel tasting at the domaine. Pretty apple and pear aromas with some background lemon. Same energy as the Saint-Aubin Villages but more precision, depth and textures, so a clear step up. 88-89 point potential.

Domaine Sylvain Langoureau Cellar Visit and Tasting (Day 3, Visit 1) (Gamay, Saint-Aubin) : Barrel tasting at the domaine. A richer styled St Aubin, but again slightly less bright. Good weight though good finish. 88-90 point potential.
