Found this in the cellar, somewhat forgotten, last bottle was opened 12 years ago. This one was certainly past prime but surprisingly drinkable. It is golden copper in color. Lightly oxidized but tastes of butterscotch, buttered popcorn and lemon curd. Finish is a bit mineral dominated. It was actually pretty decent with a piece of grilled salmon.

[Only cellared @ room temp] N: Lovely, toast notes, apples poss lemons underneath P: Med, poss MF body; Round, swtish entry, excellently balanced with adequate acidity. Obviously at least a couple of yrs past its prime, it was QUITE adequate with food, or even on its own -- as an example of how a well-made, BALANCED wine can have REMARKABLE longevity even under less than optimal conditions.

Bright gold. Huge, open knit yet slightly complex nose of ripe fruit, soil, and flowers. Rich and dense on the palate displaying ripe tropical fruit, banana and apricot with a little oily butter action but not too cloying. Decent acidity but the finish is a touch awkward and carries with it a fair amount of heat.

Honey Gold color with lots of long viscous legs on e glass. Bouquet had lots of apricot and peach along with a hint of almond. Flavors exploded in your mouth as it warmed. The aftertaste had a very long finish of butterscotch. As a lover of age worthy chards I think this wine has lots of time left and will likely get even more honeyed as it keeps aging.

I found past bottles a touch too tannic -- and this one shows some toasted wood tannin as well -- but the muted orange marmalade flavor takes center stage. The oak influence is more rounded now and makes this wine more balanced, more enjoyable. I would prefer a little more subtlety, but this is not a bad style of wine; it has its place.

Loved it. Very well balanced cali-chard - not overpowered by oak or vanilla - very enjoyable alone or with food.

Full body, gobs of creamy tropical fruit and oak. Perfect drinking window now.

A drop off, right after a Meursault. Tropical fruits and minerals. Decent finish.

Day 3. Richness of fruit is the key here. A sub plot within sleepy hollow. Peach and pineapple fruit, but a huge note in the nose. 00% barrel ferment and 30% new oak. Not tones of vanilla, but there sure is richness of fruit here, showing the ripeness of the 08 vintage. Stoney mineral aromas somehow showing over all that fruit. Heck of a wine.

Pretty creamy and full bodied. Nice when a bit colder but was not very enjoyable when getting warmer. Too much oak to be a class act

Quite good! Not as oaky as I remember from when it was first bottled. Developed nicely bringing more acid to the forefront.

One of my favourites. Flavourful but not overpowering. Fruity but fresh. Very good (85.5).

Really quite good. I like it. Delish! Equally good as 2002. Indeed perhaps better. A mainstay for a half bottle of rich Chardonnay, but without excessive and excessively strong oak flavour. Very good (86.5).

A more youthful version of the 2000. Nice buttery finish. Refreshing, high acidity. Very good.
