PnP and outstanding from the start. Not a hard edge anywhere. Drank at a family dinner so didn’t have time to pay detailed attention, but this stopped me in my tracks.

This bottle was even better than the last, which I really enjoyed. This showed the best of Napa and why some of these Cult wines have gotten so popular. Rich cherry liqueur, cedar, cigar wrapper, stewed prunes. Really lovely, dynamic stuff with great balance, this is a very good wine that is squarely in the middle of its drinking window right now.

Decanted two hours. Silky and full bodied with blackberry liqueur, licorice, earth, sage, chewy tannins, long finish. This is a well-built, beautifully balanced cult Cab showing well now.

Fantastic wine. Approachable immediately but did decant for 2 hrs prior to indulging. Nose of raspberry, and blue fruits with a bit of herbal undertone. Maybe a bit of licorice. Lovely, big, leathery, black and blue fruit bottle here. Very much a full bodied wine and unfortunately a bit hot the palette, this was a great match with A5 wagyu and some gruyere potatoes. Not at the level of the stupendous 2007 but still a very nice wine.

Fantastic nose with lots of breadth, fruit, earth, brine, something like cola. Exceptional mouth feel, smooth, with a little grip, full-bodied. Wonderful complexity, flawlessly integrated. Red fruit, olive, coffee, chocolate, some pepper, background notes of earth and crushed rock, but extremely subtle. If I had to pick a core flavor profile, it's like a Dr. Pepper (!) with a bit of milk chocolate finish, but somehow magically not sweet, due to the wide range of other flavors harmoniously blended in.

Fairly bland on the nose and mouth upon opening. one hour later, no different, and if anything fading. not a bad bottle, just not much to write home about.

Rich and decadent but still with plenty of balance and finesse. Dark plum and currant fruit, nicely ripe but not overdone. These elements are contrasted against an interesting mix of soy sauce, graphite, earth and anise. This is very Cabernet in many ways, yet is also unique, interesting, and different. Really, really good. Still very youthful, but I'm just not convinced these wines get significantly better with age.

Very disappointing for a Bryant. Good but not excellent. Bottle was in mint condition and not decanted buy poured in big Bordeaux glasses. Drank with Marc Gagnon and he agreed with my lack of enthusiam for the wine. I had the 2009 DB4 a couple of nights later and it was surprisingly much better.

What one would expect from a standard, mid-level Napa Valley cabernet. Plum, red currant, cedar. After some air, the cedar and dust notes come more to the forefront, with subtle tannins clamping down a bit on the finish. Pedestrian, one-note, and somewhat underwhelming; on the lighter side of Cabernet for me. Deep purple hue. Fantastic nose-- deep dark berry, smoky, oaky nose. Medium bodied, smooth, light, light oak, not too dry, and very easy to drink. Not heavy in tannins. Really enjoyed popping and drinking.

Big nose with red berries jam, bacon, viols and vanilla. Very smooth on the palate, settles down even more after resting a couple of hours after decanting. Some jelly, slight pine and balanced tannins.

Lodi reds tend to have huge fruit, but are unable to contain the plummy character that seems to invade warm weather areas. They do a real good job of minimizing that defect here. A really drinkable cab with enough backbone to avoid being cloying.

Tasted at 4th Annual NY Wine Expo @ J. Javits Convention Ctr. 9% Cab Sauvignon, 8% Petit Sirah, 2% Cab Franc. Very nice nose of black cherry, plum, licorice, leather, sweet spice & toast aromas. Smooth, velvety palate w/supple tannins, medium acidity & currant fruit, black cherry & vanilla mocha flavors w/hint of tobacco notes. Moderate:long finish.
