Zenato Rosso Veronese Alanera Veronese IGT

Much better than last bottle, especially after two days of air (was a bit concentrated day one). Med to full, but authentic and delicious. Bacon, ripe and dark, but not as heavy as last bottle.

Interesting at first, but the weight gets to be a bit much. Hint of additive. Dark fruit, tobacco.

A bit more going on here. Nose is thick with plum, leather, cheese, black pepper. Palate is dark fruit, tobacco, licorice blsck pepper again.

Easy and pleasant. Cherry, tobacco, plum.

Loads of peppery and spicy, ripe cherry and berry character on the nose and palate. Hints of coffee and chocolate, too. Full to medium palate, where the spicy tannins push the fruit into a long finish. I like the full-throttle drive to this red. Will improve in the bottle.

Pale garnet in the glass. Dark fruit, with a hint of dried fruit on the nose. On the palate more dried fruit with good acidity and balance. Quite long finish. Excellent match with spicy tomato sauce. Bold enough to stand up to the spice and acid of the dish yet pleasant to drink on its own.

Luscious caramel and red fruits on the nose. Goes down smooth with a fair bit of residual sugar, with the pleasant sour cherry note I've come to expect from Corvina-based wines. The dried fruit character comes more on the palate than the nose, with a decidedly masculine mix of prunes and leather on the midpalate, and black tea on the finish. Talk about a crowd-pleaser, although your wine-snob friends might disagree.

Had with baked ziti casserole. Very smooth and easy to drink.

Dry cherries leather oak

Very nice. Tobacco and plum and soft tannins, and ready to drink.
