Our penultimate bottle double decanted off its sediment and served a couple of hours later. 50/50 cab sauv and merlot. Notes of violet, currants, leather, cedar and plum. Medium-bodied and integrated, showing mixed and red and black berry fruit, plum and iron. A lovely little bottle.

quite succulent with dark cherries and a salty finish that i like. It is not as elegant or powerful as it's bigger siblings but still a very comforting Bordeaux blend where the Merlot has the upper hand.

Nice bright, rich Merlot, yet quite well balanced and velvety. For the price, it’s great and it went well with some chicken hash.

Decanted off its sediment and served. Just a slight bit of bricking to show some age. Leather, red plum, currant and earth. Integrated, showing mature red fruit qualities. Medium(-) finish. Nice for what it is.

Nose initially somewhat closed, dried cherry and alcohol. On first glance, not much going on, though the finish is dry and dusty. When paired with a meal after an hour of air, displays fruit with balanced oak. Likely a year past its prime, and doesn’t strike me as ever having been remarkable. For those with remaining bottles, I’d drink this with red meat.

Man, could you ask for anything more from Bordeaux Superieur? I actually thought it was the flip of the varietals - 90% Cab and 10% Merlot because of the beautiful purple graphite thing going on. Well there was beautiful purple graphite but the label reports to me that its 90% Merlot, 10% Cab.

Good but very dry. Strong hints of fruit.Drank over 3 days. Vac & fridge in between. Held up and developed nicely to olive and some port by the end.

Fresh, with some green notes turning violet, still primary fruit. Ready, but one more year will reward would be my guess.

Earthy, meaty aromas accompanied by dark fruit. Nice weight to the palate, lots of fruit and fine tannins.
