New Year's Eve, accompanying cotechino and lenticchie. No TN. This wine is again very impressive, with great density and depth, as well as acidity in a very drinkable, but still attention-grabbing package.

Still quite young, with lots of fine and elegant fruit (mainly dark cherries) on the nose, but not only. On the palate it shows as a firm Barbera, with great depth and complexity. This can still go strong for several years more.

TNs: Recent Rando Wines; 8/19/2020-10/2/2020 : Good showing: Still vibrant and fresh, with clean black cherry notes and zingy black pepper that really perks up the palate. Wire of acid runs through. Freshness is the word that comes to mind. Would not guess 8 years old. Terrific served on the cool side alongside a simple skirt steak and potatoes on a hot night. Wish I had more.

Varmt, mjukt, lätt men gott. Vinet borde ha danssat o sugit i munnen men andra flaskan säger så här. Vinet finns inta att köpa mera för vinrankorna byts ut (ca. 100 år gamla).

I understand this parcel is part of/next to the Monprivato (or was part - apparently it has been replanted from 2015). From memory. No decant. In your face, expressive and intense. Dark cherries, violets, and liquorice. Fat and muscular in the mouth. Velvety yet gripping. Long finish. Open for business, but my guess is that it may have long journey. Quite something. One of the best Barberas ever tasted for me. Saddening that it is no longer being produced. 93-94p …
