Weingut Rappenhof Alsheim Chardonnay

Served blind at a tasting and a first of German Chardonnay. The nose had peach, grass, watercress, milk, oysters, flint, nice mineral nose. The mouth has a round Alsace acidity, with ripe apples which separates it from German Riesling and made it easier to guess what this was. Fun to try not something I’m buying myself.

Interesting wine. It is not a lot of Chardonnay in the nose, but a lot of classic German nose. Very easygoing, fresh and fruity, herbs. Mineral, acid. Fish
