Slight bricking at the rim. Lovely nose of cherry, black tea, pine and damp earth. Very lively mouthfeel -- dances across the palate with subtle cherry and plum notes, some baking spice and a nice spine of acid. Long finish. Turned a bit cloying after warming to room termperature and several hours of air, but that is a quibble. A great 13 year old pinot.

Notes of candied cherry and pine resin. Flavors of candied cherry and white currant, with a subtle earthy component. Has a bit of a sour quality as well.

Time has been kind to this bottle. No visible sign of age. That beautiful WesMar nose has a refined depth to it that I've not seen in a younger bottle. Still plenty of fruit left in this with dusty cherry and spice predominant. Still beautiful.

14.0% alcohol. Pretty red cherry color, with faint signs of lightening around the edge of the glass. A very pretty bouquet of red and black cherry, mushrooms, and baking spice, with just some hints of the ripeness of the vintage creeping in. In the mouth, lively and vibrant for the most part, with tasty black cherry fruit, earth, mushrooms, and spice. The acidic kick is terrific, but there is a note of ripeness creeping in on the finish. Time to …

14.0% alcohol. This was an absolutely superb bottle of Pinot. Full cherry color, with no signs of age. Aromatic bouquet, as one would expect from WesMar, with black cherry, red cherry, layers of dark earth, baking spice, and flowers. There's a hint of stems lingering in the background. In the mouth, plush and elegant, with terrific palate presence that just caresses the tongue. Packed with delicious red and black cherry fruit, a hint of plum, there are also layers of …

This was the best of my bottles, although sadly, my last. Similar notes, but the finish was no longer disjointed. This was still sailing along - I wish I had more to see any changes.

Opened and poured. Light ruby coloring, with clear hue thoughout. Nose is of cherries and other red fruits, and some dusty floral notes. Palate is tart cherries, some spice and a hint of vanilla. Finish is medium length, but the balance was just the tiniest bit disjointed for me. While still outstanding, this is becoming my least favorite bottling in the WesMar lineup.

This was nice. it has changed a bit since i last had it. light ruby color bursting with strawberry and cranberry aromas along with some baking spice and a little vanilla. Also a bit of clean wet stone. the fruit and spice come through on the palate and there is a nice level of acid backbone making this go well with food. this was showing well. completely different from some of the big bruisers currently out there (i like those …

Brought it to Palena 9/17/05 big nose. bing cherry and a little cola/vanilla palate follows through with the nose. a little oaky for me, but the fruit made it tasty.
