Amazing evolution, showing gorgeous red fruit, complex aromas and tertiary notes of vinyl and fully integrated. Like a fantastic northern Rhobe with just the perfect amount of age. Definitely at peak now.

This wasn't good on the first night...had an oil slick taste that was quite off-putting. It needed another night in a carafe and came around to be at least decent. However I suspect it's just not very well made since it's still lacking in character, and it's a bit harsh as well. one of the reasons I left the Foxen club years a go. Moving on

Great Pinot. Cherry, pepper with a hint of raspberry. Medium body with great aftertaste. Still like Julia's vineyard better, but this is the next best Foxen Pinot in my mind.

Rich, dark fruits of black cherries, black raspberries, and huckleberries. Oak is obvious, vanilla, nutmeg, and pepper

Killer. Drink now. Can't imagine this wine gets better. Has held up well, balanced, perfect acidity, long finish.

This wine has improved markedly over the last 18 months. It is now loaded with dark fruit, a long enjoyable after taste and a beautiful aroma.

Nice dark fruit nose. Big smooth tastes of plum, dark fruits & dark cherry. Generally consistent taste throughout the bottle.

Slightly medicinal at PnP, but developed nicely over the course of the night. Suggest at least an hour decant (even though I rarely decant my pinots). White pepper and deep strawberry flavor.

Medium-opaque purple/violet in color, with spicy plum aromas. Palate showing pretty integration now, rich in baked plum, blueberry and blackberry, a touch of olive and white pepper, yet light on its feet at the same time. Tannins are supportive, not harsh, and finishes long and tasty.

Cherry, tobacco, and pepper with what, a hint of freshly opened bubblegum on the nose? Smooth deeply flavored Pinot with an expansive palate. Nice lingering mouthfeel and finish. Tasty!

Big,big in your face wine. On the nose its obviously from Santa Ynez wine country but bigger on the palate than any other wine I've ever had from the region. Like a big one dimensional Turley PS. Drinking well now paired with hard cheeses. Will age for another 5-8 years nicely and pick up complexity missing now.

Love Foxen Pinots...enjoyed this one at the tasting room! Smooth red fruits and a touch of bacon. Finally a high end Pinot my wife likes.

N: Dark Brambly fruit, blackberries. P: Heavy, dark austere fruits, blackberry, sharp dark cherry, balsamic, stewed meat. Almost a bit of carrots to it, very interesting and very bold. They said it could use at least 7 years to settle down. F: A meritage of dark fruits.

A very aromatic nose of cloves, eucalyptus & pine. Dark color with excellent extraction and balance. Great mouth feel & nose is wonderful. Finish is a little short and doesn't quite have the complexity and layering of flavors like Julias. Nevertheless, a great Foxen Pinot Noir but for the same price, I'll buy Julias.

Santa Ynez Valley Tasting Trip - Day 2 (Babcock, Foxen, Koehler, Brander) (Santa Ynez Valley, CA) : $54. Strong Potpourri on the nose. On the palate, very interesting perfumey, dried herbs, and pepper flavors. Medium bodied and quite flavorful in a nicely balanced frame. I really liked it, but I didn't feel like dropping $50+ on it.
