A really nice example of a rarely imported wine from the south of the Le Marche region of Italy. This dark purple montepulciano based wine is a beautiful example of the power, complexity and freshness of this varietal. I love the directness and food friendly qualities of this juice! Great values exist all across this region.....

color: dark ruby - violet nose: black cherry, plum, and spice with hints of licorice and tar. nice fruit and spice with plenty of structure and a dry finish. A nicely balanced wine with a touch of earthy (bret) mixing with nice bright fruit and spice.

An ok Sangiovese, maybe a bit steep at 16 bucks.

A decent bottle that got better with time as some fruit and spice emerged. Paired very well with Beef Braciole for dinner

Decanter Great Italian Fine Wine Encounter (The Landmark Hotel, London NW1) : 70% Montepulciano, 30% Sangiovese. Mid purple in colour. A rich aroma with scents of cherry and plum. Palate shows spice and licorice. Not stunning. (Tasted in the Grand Tasting, Decanter Great Italian Fine Wine Encounter, Landmark Hotel, London)
