Smells a little dusty. At 10 years old, there is still plenty life left in this. No longer bursting with fruit. It has got reasonable length and the tannins have settled down a lot from when this was a younger wine. There is some acidity evident but it isn't a distraction. A solid wine without being spectacular.

This made for some pretty enjoyable drinking although it still has a fair amount of oak present. It has come a fair way from when I last tried this a few years back where it was still very tannic and needed time. A bit more time won't hurt here but it isn't bad now

Had a glass at office event. Second time I have an Australian Parker wine and again this has too much oak for my taste. There is of course the usual rich fruit, some spices, and more surprising, medium, drying tannins. Would probably wait 2 years to see if the tannins can soften a bit if I had this. 88

Visit to Coonawarra (Coonawarra, Limestone Coast) : Drinkable, but not great. The nose showed a sweerish synthesis of merlot-ish plums and flowers alongside more earthy, cassis-led Cab notes. The palate was very simple, a lot more cassis flavours some spice and a mid-length finish. Nice balance made it very quaffable, but there was neither much imagination nor interest on offer.

Blackcurrant, berries. Medium bodied with good direction.
