Jeanne's party at South Bridge Reserve : Some flint on the nose and had powerful, broad fruit combined with searing acidity. From the wax capsule I thought this was a Paul Pillot. A very complete white Burgundy that was drinking superbly in its primary phase. My favourite white on the night.

Nice white. Loud nose. Seemed almost more like a meursault. Was very rich and ripe w/o a lot of the stoney mineral quality I love from a Puligny. Enjoyable now but will age well for years.

Excellent depth and intensity to the medium-full bodied orchard fruit and spice flavors. Mearsault-like flinty hazelnut quality. Really lovely tonight but will benefit from time to allow the oak to integrate.

Similar experience as last bottle opened in 2022. Premox looking but wasn’t. Needed about 45-60min to pull together then came around. Lemon pie flavors, very rich profile. Nice balance.

Brian's Birthday Dinner (Wabi-Sabi Private Dining) : Good rather than great. This still showed remnants of liberal new oak use on the nose, with drifts of fresh vanilla bean and chantilly cream alongside white fruited apples, almonds, and notes of spice. The palate felt rather ripe, without ever being off-balanced, with more sweet cream notes alongside ripe apples and lemons, and then a mid-palate with tones of mineral, spice and white flowers. Puligny 2019 with Stannary (Zoom!) : Champ-Canet is a good location above Combottes and adjacent to Meursault Perrieres. Benoit Riffault says it can tend towards a creaminess that's not common in Puligny - elegant but ripe and a bit spicy. Slightly broader on the nose, seamlessly combining cream, sherbert, fruit and cereal notes. There's an authority on the palate - it's many things all at once, and very persistent. Beautiful to drink now but could well age 15-20 years.

Palate quite rich with intense citrus and stone fruit laid over touches of honey and butter. Very good grip and a mineral finish that lingers on the palate for ages. The last bottle of 6 - perhaps the most reliable of Sauzet's range in our cellar over the years.

Way past it's prime, disappointing. We just purchased at Taillevent wine shop only two months ago. Dark gold, oxidizing with a sherry and metallic taste. We poured it out.

Unfortunately this bottle either had a faint hint of TCA, or just didn't make it. Slightly musty and a hint of sherry. The nose and palate did not do much for anyone, and it did not change whatsoever over the course of 8 hours. We tossed most of it.

Thankfully light golden. Fresh and clean, with mostly citrus and a hint of tropical fruit- pineapple more than luscious fat stuff. This has great minerality and good tension, but maybe lacking a little clarity and depth, but overall very enjoyable. This is a "less is more" wine drinking at peak and thankfully no P-mox. 91 pts

Another beachside bottle : at dinner at Pitchfork Peregian. Just as delicious as previous notes - right in the groove of still young PM with just a little honey to balance the peach, pear and lemon characters. Excellent length and drive - remains very fresh with no signs of poor handling.

BlackSalt, an impromptu Monday night gathering : Nice mature nose, mineral, sea salt, lemon and etc. I love the mineral expression in Sauzet Champ Canets and this wine had plenty. It appears as the wine is a bit tired, not completely premoxed but not as fresh as it should be. Nevertheless quite enjoyable. Needs to be drunk up.

Color - pale gold,touch of green. Nose complex white peach, nectarine and grapefruit with touch of cashew. Palate medium weight complex stone fruits leading to persistant mineral infused finish. Fine structure. Still in first half of its maturation curve ! Delicious - from 1999 onwards I have seen very little premox in Sauzet bottles of good provenance.

A decent bottle, almond, hazelnut and citrus on the nose and palate, with a slightly more creamy citrus on the palate. Good acidity still, and no sign of oxidation. Drink soon.

Tasted blind. Quite a dark straw color,but still on the yellow side of the spectrum and no signs of oxidation at all. Really quite superb, a 1er cru batting close to Grand Cru levels. Some tropical fruit on the nose, and flint on the palate. The 2000 vintage was showing in how approachable this wine was, but not quality-wise as there's nothing missing here - acidity, fruit, weight, length - it's all there.

no premox. not your flabby '02. this one has crunchy acid beyond the reputation of the vintage. Nose is a bit mute with lemon, pear, and some oak. Richer on the palate with citrus, slightly bitter minerals, and a long, staining finish. Not super deep or complex, but a very nice 1er '02 with more acidity than most.

The flavors are muted - nutty, yellow fruits are tell tale flavors, but really no depth, complexity or elegance to this particular bottle. dreaded gray-blue tinge on the bottom of the (unbleached) cork's business end. there was even some gray-blue goo that could be scrapped off! revolting to think of this junk in contact with White Burgundy. another victim of premox, but more advanced age rather than totally shot. no notes as I was just too bummed... overall, still drinkable, but barely... by the next day the remaining 2/3 bottle was completely gone.

Bright pale/medium gold. Slightly reticent but classy nose, with pear, some soil notes and a hint of minerality. Elegant and racy on the palate with lovely clarity and transparency, crisp acidity and a long finish with some honeyed mineral notes. Balanced, restrained, complex and fresh, this should continue to develop well. Lovely, oozes class.

Medium yellow colour. Scents of apples and old furniture. Good fat texture with plenty of power and density of fruit. Quite strong in the mouth with a striking spiciness. Somewhat one-dimensional, though, with a fading aftertaste. This wine was hard to grade, as it had elements of power and concentration, but ultimately lacked finesse.
